Should Atheists Speak Out? - Comments From Our Community

What's the point speaking against religion? Should atheists keep their opinions to themselves? See what others think or share your own views.

Do religious people look at themselves in the mirror and question why the world has been torn apart by the grips of religion? Or why it has remained fragmented for a long time? Or don't they care? The fact they are safe, sound and happy doesn't mean someone else is.

When there are followers demanding (and aggressively) shoving their beliefs down our throats or even influencing our governments/system in negative ways that will prove disastrous for other non-believers, we our entitled to criticize their beliefs and ideals in hope of letting individuals realize

Controversy stirs up debate and as a consequence can lead to change, and thats how society evolves. Only those certain they know everything fear change. So yes controversy is very important.

I agree that there is quite a lot of written material available through Atheist Republic that might be referred to as "negative" in one way or another, loads of it actually.

Today, as my daughter and I were leaving the shoe store, I notice an older lady struggling to open the store door because her hands were full. The nice and respectful human I am, I walked over and held the door for her (my daughter helped of course).
