A good world needs knowledge, kindliness, and courage; it does not need a regretful hankering after the past or a fettering of the free intelligence by the words uttered long ago by ignorant men.

I agree with this . all we need now is knowledge of right and wrong to guide us kindliness to take care of our fellow man and courage to make the occasional stand in order to set things right to have a good world of which to live in.
Long ago in a more chaotic world religion may have been necessary where it took to from ones life to be intelligent but now to act as may have been necessary long ago would be ignorance and its could very well be time to sever the umbilical chord which feeds the world's religions all their power and does us more harm than good. It's time to wake up, its time to call bullshit on the teachings and ideologies of old and make a better world one where religion is the archaic tool it is. Its time to follow our hearts rather than the words recorded long ago by people with shorter lifespans and far less knowledge. who are we to disregard this great opportunity we have been given to create a better world?
If there ever were such a thing as a god why would he give us a brain and then not expect us to use it ? Why would he give us a world with the ability to understand how it works and not expect us to put such a wonderful creation which sustains us first and foremost? Why would he tell us to behave good to get to a better world when he gave us all we need to make this world better?
