In an infinite existence
What is impossible rather than improbable?
What is not impossible rather than improbable?
In a finite existence
What is impossible rather than improbable?
What is not impossible rather than improbable?

Both of them can be explained without religions
@Adonis
Thank you for your response. Would you care to demonstrate an explanation, or the explanation you are referencing?
Also if it is fair to your explanation, I am Catholic. If it is helpful to you, only if it is helpful to you, I am willing that the original statement is adjusted as follows:
Both of them can be explained without Catholicism.
And here we go: long on woo, short on fact.
@ Catholicray: are you going to answer my post and continue the discussion about the gospels in the "Have you read " thread? Or is that subject taboo to you?
@Old man shouts
"long on woo, short on fact"
If you care to, please explain your statement. I do not suppose questions could be facts. Do we agree on this point?

"@ Catholicray: are you going to answer my post and continue the discussion about the gospels in the "Have you read " thread? Or is that subject taboo to you?"
I apologize for not giving a response yet. I am one and I am not enough. I will respond as soon as possible.
@ Catholicray
I was commenting that YOUR statement or question was long on mysticism and contained no facts.
Regarding answering my post that you cavalierly ignored some days ago...fine, I shall await your response.
HERE WE GO AGAIN,,,,
Is there a reason for me to waste my time ...... Hmmmmm NO!
I would rather delve into what needs to be established, what is the shape of the universe and is infinity possible?
Observational data best fit with the conclusion that the shape of the global universe is infinite and flat.

Speculating on what it may be and what is possible/impossible/probable/improbable is an exercise in science, not philosophy, which is like debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
FYI, it is 42.
@ David
It's not the number of angels that is important but what dance they're doing. Waltz, polka, twist or shutterbug?
Twerk
@David Killens
I visited the link you provided, thank you. I am ignorant of the information and unable to comprehend most of it.
"Speculating on what it may be and what is possible/impossible/probable/improbable is an exercise in science, not philosophy."
My ignorance precedes me. By it do you mean the physical universe?
@catholicray
"By it do you mean the physical universe?"
Yes, the one we live in, the testable and real universe, not some imaginary land of Fantasia. One is real, the other a product of the imagination.
We understand what is possible by observing the laws of nature.
How would you tell the difference between "an infinite existence" and a "finite existence"?
@Sapporo
How would you tell the difference between "an infinite existence" and a "finite existence"?
The finite should be measurable completely. The measurement should be finished. This is what I think.
Impossible
In an infinite existence
What is impossible rather than improbable? (It's impossible to get away from the ignorant.)
What is not impossible rather than improbable? (It's not impossible to call them ignorant when they keep making inane posts.)
In a finite existence
What is impossible rather than improbable? (It appears to be impossible to get away from the ignorant.)
What is not impossible rather than improbable? (It is not impossible to call them ignorant, point it out to them, and encourage them to change their inane behavior.
Haha Stop , Don't be upset just let him post what he wants ....
@Cognostic
That really made me laugh. Thank you for your answer.
Re: OP
I don't know.
I don't know.
Echo.
Echo.
Where's RatSpit when you need him. I say we start a private thread, then we invite Breezy back and send a PM to sft /SFT - We put them in a room with catholoicray and In Spirit, lock them all in and see what happens.
LMAO...not laughing at you...the proposed experiment and it's possible conclusions are.
Good way to start the day here. Still laughing....can't stop...too funny.
A Priest, A Rabbi, and a Minister Walk Into a Bar
Just saying ......
@ David Killens
And the bartender says "Is this a joke?"
What if there were no hypothetical situations?
"What if there were no hypothetical situations?"
You get a gold star for making me laugh.
David Killens,
"What if there were no hypothetical situations?"
If there were no hyptohetical situations how could the furious winds of faith fill the gossamer sails of Noah's ark as it glides serenely through the cosmic sea of talking snakes while being pursued by Mohammed on his winged horse dragging a singing burning bush while the stars fall to Earth and hundred pound hail stones fall on your head while the dragon laughs as the angels torture and kill humanity until the blood is as deep as a horse is tall?
This is very interesting Dio...I am going to have to go discuss this with my donkey.
Hey, if the North Pole was a more tropical climate as opposed to a frozen wasteland, would Santa still be able to maintain his workshop there? I mean, for example, how would the flying reindeer be able to pull Santa's sleigh up through a jungle canopy? And wouldn't it be more difficult to stay hidden with all the tourists flocking there on vacation all through the year? Those are only a couple of problems out of many. Oh, and I don't imagine Santa would be wearing that heavy red suit of his. Oh, dear, just imagine! The image of Christmas could have been totally different! These are things that keep me awake at night.
The thought of Santa in a thong is .... well, it's traumatic
@ Tin
Santa comes to Oz wearing sandals, shorts, flowery Hawaiian shirt, Raybans and a hat riding in a sleigh pulled by kangaroos. Its ok. Sleep well.
FUCK!
I read it.
Why didn't anyone warn me?!
@Catholicray
If this is the best way you could come up with to ask whatever you're asking, you have no idea what it is you're trying to ask.
@Terraphon Re: "Why didn't anyone warn me?!"
...*soothing voice*... Calm down... Just caaaaalm down.... There ya go... Deeep breath, and relax.... Good.
Look, you are making it way more complicated than it is. Not sure why everybody seems to be having trouble with Catholicray's questions. It is really quite simple. Now, pay attention...
With an infinite amount of possibilities, there should be a finite amount of probabilities. On the other hand, with a finite amount of possibilities, the probabilities would be infinite. In that same respect, if there is an infinite amount of possibilities AND probabilities, then it is possible that infinity has an infinitely finate number of probabilities...... (probably). Sadly, though, we have only a finite amount of resources to explore an infinite number of possibilities regarding any potential probabilities.
See? Nothing to it. Easy peasy.
