Genisis 3:22 ...
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Question 1/ "one of us" .....Clarification ?
Question 2. "El &/or Elohim" ....Clarification ?
I am pretty sure he would not answer watchman :)
So i will give a more analytical approach of the origin of that sentence.
Unlike what the brainless theist might tell you in this business it is best to use the literal translations(the most accurate).
After a detailed analysis one can easily see that the bible was "inspired" by the Sumerian texts during the Jewish exile in Babylon and after.
Young's Literal Translation
"And Jehovah God saith, 'Lo, the man was as one of Us, as to the knowledge of good and evil; and now, lest he send forth his hand, and have taken also of the tree of life, and eaten, and lived to the age,'"
"was as one of Us", as to the knowledge of good and evil
means that man also has the ability of knowing "good and evil", basically he has Morality like the gods had.
"Question 1/ "one of us" .....Clarification ?"
The Sumerians believed that the gods were superior beings in some way and that they created us from them, basically in their image.
The Jews just copied this idea during their exile.
"and lived to the age"
live to the age means, to live to the end of the astrological age. The "Age of Pisces" was soon to come during the re-writing of the bible.
One needs to remember that time was counted differently back then, so at that time Astrology was the science they used.
"lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life"
I'm pretty sure this is a mistranslated or a biased interpretation of the Sumerian version, that it comes from.
It be arrogant of me to try to guess what it was so I abstain from making a conclusion just yet.
What I know is that the "tree of life" is referring to a particular kind of knowledge that only the gods had,
"Question 2. "El &/or Elohim" ....Clarification ?"
This comes from the Jewish version of names for gods.
basically;
El means god
Elohim means gods
Elion means supreme/most high god.(the one on top)
No Yahweh was not Elion but he pretended that the Jews venerated him as if he was the only true god.
Though the Jews at the time knew there were multiple gods to choose from but made a pact with Yahweh on/near the mountain of Sinai.
He was so jealous of the other gods that he made the first commandment about it.
Hope that helps.
A. Why fucking mosquitoes god, just why, do you just have something against juicy people?
B. How was the universe created?
1) Why does it require the death and destruction of creations of god in order to sustain my own existence, as well as the death and destruction of other creations of god in order to sustain their existence, etc?
2) Why does not the sharks and lions and hippos and grizzzly bears, oh wait, snakes and spiders and jellyfish... oh and viruses... not respect us as god's creation, or why have we no defenses against them if they exist for our benefit?
Of course if I'm already dead and asking god this, it doesn't much matter eh? Just seems like some major flaws in the system. Maybe I'll just wait for The Universe 2.0 and he'll have worked these bugs out by then.
"Why not end all debates by proving to humanity you are the one and only ?"
"If my first question isn't answered, get lost"
It looks like we ended the tread ....
I guess OP never read/liked my joke >_>
