"When women understand that governments and religions are human inventions; that Bibles, prayer-books, catechisms, and encyclical letters are all emanations from the brains of man, they will no longer be oppressed by the injunctions that come to them with the divine authority of 'Thus sayeth the Lord."
- Elizabeth Cady Stanton

It's incredibly funny how religion is obviously the product of a bunch of immature men looking to have slaves for wives.
It's true, especially the newer religions. Just look at how the views on women have changed from Judaism to Islam!
I recently read a story about an American model converting to Islam! She claimed practically all men treated her like a piece of meat except for a man from Tunisia. They ended up hitting it off really well because she felt respected and is beginning to wear more clothing. Bizarre eh?
Yeah that really is bizarre!
I am almost speechless after reading this quote. If I share this with many women, not only the highly religious, what do you think the response would be?
I think some would agree and other the more religious ones would strongly disagree! Definitely worth sharing though as it will make everyone think on it and there is a good point to be had here.
Nobel Peace Prize winner "Tawakkul Karman," 'The mother of Yemen's revolution,' when asked about her Hijab by journalists and how it is not proportionate with her level of intellect and education, replied:
“Man in early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is a regression back to the ancient times.''
I always feel weird when I see a woman in such full religious garbs be they Christian nuns or Muslim wives, around here, I feel you know that's your choice but really why would you choose that.
All religions are oppressive in some way and it doesn't matter if you are a man, a woman or a child.
I don't know all religions are like that but the vast majority of the ones I have encountered are. I meet a Gothic woman once who claimed this was not so of her religion. Not sure budism is and I am sure there are many more out there anybody able to help me on this one.
Hijab [ covering] is not about Oppression but Freedom from Evil Eyes...!!!!
