How minority religions deal with Christmas, especially Santa, was one of the topics at the Ecumenical dinner Monday. This might help. I've gotten positive feedback from members of the group.

I grew up in a Hindu household and we celebrated Christmas by being together and gift giving. Nothing other than that. It's been great.
For me, Christmas, Santa Claus, etc. is all bollocks. While me family was alive, we did not need "Christmas" in order to have a friends and family get together for fun, being together, and gift giving. When I look back, we have had a "Christmas" in the middle of June, or September, or February, or whenever. Me wife and I thought of ANY day being able to be made into a "Christmas" get together for no other reason than to have the get together. I feel ALL holidays, excepting Fourth of July, should be abolished. Hell, Federal and State workers get enough days off from work. Lazy shits.
This Christmas, I'll be at the Yellowstone office "minding the store" so to say. Think I care I won't be home? No. I'll be in Yellowstone. Some of the most beautiful country to just go out and look in wonder at when I take a break. Might even get snowed in. Basically, I don't need a "holiday" to get together with family and friends. Any day will do.
