My challenge to "pro-life" people.

What a bunch of sanctimonious cunts.

I tried getting a vasectomy when I was in the service at the age of 19.
I didn't want kids.
They sent me to a shrink. I was pissed.
They told me they wouldn't give me a vasectomy, because I'd change my mind.
That was 40 years ago.
Still don't want or have kids.
I have likewise never wanted children, even though I knew there would be some regrets as I am not devoid of ego, I also always knew I didn't want to bring children into the world. I love children ironically, perhaps that's why I didn't want to bring any into the world. Anyway the real irony is that I now have 6 grandchildren, as my wife had three children from her first marriage, and nothing is better than being granddad, and I now get why my grandfather spoiled me so much.
Grandchildren are indeed the best! Very excited to say that my fourth will arrive this month.
Congratulations, my youngest is nearly 4 now, the eldest is ten.
What great ages! I bet you have so much fun with them!
My other three are 6, 7, and 17 yrs old.
As a Gram to a Granddaddy, check out Kiwi Crates for them. I am hoping at least one becomes a scientist. ;-)
Congratulations!
I have two granddaughters, 6 and 7. Grandkids are much nicer than kids! All fun. No responsibility.
@Cronus
It happened to women, too. I'm not sure how it is now, but a decade or two ago, any childless woman of childbearing age had roughly zero chance of getting a doctor to agree to her request for tubal ligation. Even women with children had a battle: they were told their current relationship might end and they might want kids with a new partner.
@LTW
"Billions of dollars could be channeled into reducing the number of weeks until a baby is viable through medical science, and billions more could be spent giving access to this high end medical procedure to all women instead of just the rich. Billions will be spent for the care and raising of all the unwanted children. These people can also continue (and will probably need to expand) their process to adopt unwanted children.
Yes it will be very expensive..."
Yes it will, and whilst JoC is quite right that some prolifers are non-religious, even atheists, the fact remains the overwhelming majority of the prolife movement is faith based, so here's a thought - tax the churches, specifically for this. Tax them in line with the corporate tax levels in each country. Tax the temples, synagogues and mosques, too. Tax them for as long as it takes- they can pray harder for the technology to arrive faster.
The reason I'm advocating taxation rather than tithing or donations is because it will take an enormous amount of R&D to develop the proposed technology. Only the public sector has the time or inclination to pursue research that will never make a dollar of profit- history's full of examples demonstrating the fact.
