Just recieved this message from a Christian questioning my beliefs

Since it's not in English screenshot would be pointless and I'll just translate it:

Listen to me, if there is not some omnipotent being then how do you explain the creation of the world, the creation of the new life.If there wasn't anything then people would be like animals, without a soul, free will and consciousness.

Wow, just wow.

"I don't know," is a

"I don't know," is a perfectly acceptable answer to questions about how life began.

We ARE animals.

Ask for proof of this soul they are talking about.

Ask them why they think their god is this creator. Ask if it could be done other entity.

I already did answer him,

I already did answer him, saying that even he doesn't know how life began and that we are dominant animals, and of course, that soul does not exist.
And yes I asked him why does he think atheists don't have conciseness.

How did he answer your last question?

I'm not wowed in the least. I

I'm not wowed in the least. I don't know all about the origins of the Universe and nor does anyone else. Inventing a god or creator doesn't help explain it. Critical thinking demands that someone proposing there is a god must first define it and then prove it.

Obviously Abrahamic gods are man-made, as are all those in godchecker.com, so the place to start is to get him to define his particular god. Even Christians seem to have different ones as most Christians I know don't seem to think the Holy Ghost exists and don't know if there's an afterlife.

Get them to define their god and then point out that belief in a soul (as defined in many dictionaries) is just supestition.

There is no need to care if there's a god or not. Believers don't seem particularly favored. Theology is just mythology taken too seriously.

I have seen it before, but always love that line;

"Theology is just mythology taken too seriously."

This reminds me of the 2 xtians in America who have a TV show who thought a banana was shaped and made by god for humans. When it's actually cultivated from 2 wild species of banana and the shape is because of negative geotropism. The explanation and proof is often there if you take the time to research it.

How would I answer. I would

How would I answer. I would say Prove It. Prove your assertions are correct. Start with proving that a creator exists.

Ask him which of the two creation stories he believes in. Genesis 1 Adam and Eve made together, or Genesis 2 Adam made from dust and Eve made from his rib.

I personally don't believe in

I personally don't believe in the Big Bang, I believe the universe became what it was gradually with age, not all at once. I do however believe how the mainstream ideas of how the planets and such were formed. Honestly? Who would be stupid enough to ask that

I'm really curious, how is it

I'm really curious, how is it that you do not 'believe' in the Big Bang? Do you have any proof that Stephen Hawkins and most present scientists are wrong? Is it intuition?

Reminds me of a time when an Uncle asked me a similar question. I asked him who created his god and did his god “just happen” throwing his argument back in his face. He looked confused and acted angry and said “you just have to have faith”. " I replied I prefer science. Pissed him off."

If the Universe requires a creator, why doesn't the supposed creator also need one?
If the creator does not require a creator, why does the Universe need one?

I would respond: Creation of

I would respond: Creation of the world requires a creator. There are sound and valid naturalistic explanations for the formation of planets. If you believe there is a creator that created the earth then you my friend are going to have to prove that this creator thing exists. Don't try to shift the burden of proof to me.

About the origin of the Solar

About the origin of the Solar System, you can show your friend something like this short video, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhy1fucSRQI, among others. And recommend him to read a serious book of Science.

On free will, there are plenty of videos on Youtube from scientists dismantling that notion. I'd recommend the ones of Sam Harris.
