If you want to understand how easy it was to fire up German hatred for Jews, you only have to read the writings of Martin Luther, the Father of Protestantism and founder of Lutheranism. In his writing, "On the Jews and Their Lies" he abhors Christianity's failure to expel them. Moreover, he proposed "What shall we Christians do with this rejected and condemned people, the Jews". "Fifth, I advise that safe-conduct on the highways be abolished completely for the Jews. For they have no business in the countryside …"

"Seventh, I recommend putting a flail, an ax, a hoe, a spade, a distaff, or a spindle into the hands of young, strong Jews and Jewesses and letting them earn their bread in the sweat of their brow … But if we are afraid that they might harm us or our wives, children, servants, cattle, etc., … then let us emulate the common sense of other nations such as France, Spain, Bohemia, etc., … then eject them forever from the country …"

My experience is that Christians generally don't know the true history of their religion because they don't seek it. You aren't going to get that honest history from the church because they have a vested interest in maintaining the norm. It is a business, sort of like Jesus, Inc. They had to have Christian Apologists to try and make the craziness sensible from the very beginning of the religion. They had to fail because magic isn't real. Magical creatures aren't real. God's don't exist for the same reason that leprechauns don't exist. They both inhabit a magical world that doesn't exist in any actual reality.

Arguments about the existence of god are no different than making the argument about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Praying does nothing. You might as well howl at the moon. The only real purpose of religion is to provide a template for applying political power to the masses in order to serve the interests of ruthless people who use the religious to further their ends.

If the test to determine the state of my afterlife is blindly accepting some rubbish from a book that hasn't made one substantial claim yet - then I am destined to fail that test ... every single time.

I don't think a creator could be that dumb so I don't believe I have a creator. It is the failure of man to give me reason to believe and if there is a god then he can't hold that against me.

But I believe this is evidence there is no god.
