The religious texts you speak of weren't they written by humans.

If a religious text incites humans to commit acts of violence, it is irrelevant whether it was written by a god or a human. If you are saying that religions should never be considered the root cause of violence, then you are making a distinction that followers of those religions do not themselves make.

Religion has been the direct

Religion has been the direct cause of, or at least an important element of, enough wars down through history. On the other hand, I can't think of a single, significant war fought in the name of atheism!

Ali "Humans are the cause of all wars"

Humans are the cause of all religions. Those religions have been either directly or indirectly implicit in all human conflicts.

This also misses the point about religions that make the falsifiable claim that a perfectly merciful or benevolent deity exists and has limitless power. Since natural disasters have killed indiscriminately and still do on a massive scale.

In 1918 the Influenza epidemic killed more people worldwide than all the wars of the twentieth century COMBINED.

You can believe there's a deity and that it stood by and did nothing, though no one can demonstrate any objective evidence for it. What you can't rationally claim is that it had the power to stop it, and is perfectly merciful, yet did nothing.

Such a deity has been demonstrated by objective evidence to not exist.

What's left are desperate rstionlisations about free will, which themselves would roundly contradicted by every claim that deity has interfered in the world to influence the fate of humans. So all claims for prophesy, Jesus myth in its entirety, every instance of claimed revelation or answered prayer, and of course very significantly every time it has been claimed to have committed mass murder and genocide.

A deity that can kill everything in flood and wipe out cities out of sheer caprice but does nothing to save countless millions from the misery ravages and death from disease is quite demonstrably either non-existent or malevolent almost beyond human comprehension.

One might argue incompetence in leaving a malevolent Satan run amok. However since it is defined as having power over Satan as well as omniscience that also is demonstrably refuted by the evidence.

The fact the evolved primates wage war is to provably to be anticipated, and by comparison is not as damning an indictment as a deity with limitless power as sadistic and barbaric as it would need to be to do nothing of any significance to help all those countless men women and children who suffer and die needlessly.

Re: "Religions are not the cause of all the major wars on this world ..."

Religion's certainly justified a few, though- ask Hitler.
