Curios Question

Hey Guys,
I am a grad school student preparing for ministry. So, what am I doing here? LOL. I'm looking to dialogue with people from differing worldviews than mine. I think there is alot of stupidity and well – ignorance in Christian America. But I'm wondering for the purposes of mutual respect and positive dialogue, if I can pose question that you'll be willing to answer. If I were to dialogue with you or someone of your family about God, how would you like me to represent him? Top Do's and Don'ts

Hello! Welcome. I would love

Hello! Welcome. I would love to engage in a dialogue with you. Im not exactly sure how to advise you on how to talk with people about god without actually having talked with you lol. However, I think a discussion would be beneficial of the both of us. It's really hard to find open minded Christians who actually know what they're talking about, but from what I read, you seem to be down to earth and reasonable.

So what's the question?

I'd say: don't pretend you

I'd say: don't pretend you know something that you don't. A particular nasty example: pretending you know the mind of god.

@Jess Noelle: "Top Do's and Don'ts"

You should avoid Noah's Ark and the Virgin birth. I wouldn't want a member of my family to get a dislocated jaw from laughing.

You shouldn't talk to me about all the suffering in this world being part of god's great cosmic plan. For anyone who's experienced a personal tragedy, that's a profound insult.

Jess Noelle, welcome. The

Jess Noelle, welcome. The two first to-do's are these: 1) Read the Bible cover to cover, and 2) read what we can demonstably prove about reality (physics, cosmology, chemistry, biology, paleontology and human history.) I don't mean that you need university courses in these things, but at a layman's level you should familiarize yourself with what we know about existence, and what the Bible says about existence.
When a person accepts the proposition that God and Satan are real, it colors everything that person hears and reads and thinks and learns. If there is a spiritual realm and an ongoing spiritual struggle, everything contrary to God's word could rationally be explained by spiritual forces. But if god and satan do not exist, you will waste decades or perhaps your entire life in a delusion. "Delusion" isn't an insult, it is a condition.
I believe that you have misapprehended the fundamental nature of reality. I will be glad to occasionally dialog with you to explain why I hold my position and I will listen to yours.
So long for now.

Jess, welcome to the arena.

Jess, welcome to the arena. If you are serious you should be able to answer these simple questions.

1. Who was called the first prophet in the Bible?

2. What are the real Ten Commandments that were written on the stone tablets and that were identified as the Ten Commandments?

3. The story about the wise men giving gifts to baby Jesus is an example of which of the Ten Commandments in action?

4. How do you, as a Gentile, expect to get into the bejeweled golden cube called New Jerusalem that's surrounded by a high wall that doesn't have any gates for Gentiles to enter through?

5. How many times did Moses go up and down with the mountain with the stone tablets in his hands?

6. Do you have any idea how much those stone tablets weighed?

7. Who committed the first honor killing in the Bible?
