I feel the comparison is close this lesson I learned as a kid: "If god told you to jump off a bridge would you?"
Common sense and moral integrity would guide a person to say "No God, I won't go run over people in time square."
Sadly Christianity doesn't teach common sense, but faith as top priority.

NY should be grateful he's a Christian. Imagine what he might have done as an atheist without the benefit of Christian morality.

1 Corinthians 5:5 (ICB) = "Then give this man to Satan, so that his sinful self will be destroyed. And then his spirit can be saved on the day of the Lord."
Nothing changes. The good represents answered prayers and the bad is god's love working in strange ways. So, the bringer of bad is god's tough love on display.
Must be pretty cool to have a religion with a god sanctioning everything good while bad is just his love.
