Unkown justified this in another thread.
"Question: Why does the god of love order mass slaughter? Again, I honestly don't care what answer you provide. This is to illustrate some of the many many problems with your special book." - God prohibits us killing the innocent because they are innocent of us killing them. However they are not innocent of God killing them. If we kill an innocent of our own accord, it is wrong. But if we kill someone because God tells us to, it is just."
I feel the comparison is close this lesson I learned as a kid: "If god told you to jump off a bridge would you?"
Common sense and moral integrity would guide a person to say "No God, I won't go run over people in time square."
Sadly Christianity doesn't teach common sense, but faith as top priority.
"God Made Him Do It."
NY should be grateful he's a Christian. Imagine what he might have done as an atheist without the benefit of Christian morality.
Someone has to be God's evil angel.
Psalm 78:49 (KJV) = "He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them."
It must be great to have someone else who is responsible for everything bad you do...
Yes, and don't forget the death bed repent loop hole that clears you of all crimes. Great incentive not to commit crime!
Has anyone heard of an atheist killer claiming that atheism told him to do it?
Satan saves!
1 Corinthians 5:5 (ICB) = "Then give this man to Satan, so that his sinful self will be destroyed. And then his spirit can be saved on the day of the Lord."
Nothing changes. The good represents answered prayers and the bad is god's love working in strange ways. So, the bringer of bad is god's tough love on display.
Must be pretty cool to have a religion with a god sanctioning everything good while bad is just his love.
