@Christina Hmm... refusing to back up your claims and instead copy-pasting the exact same fucking comment word-for-word a second time to try and evade dissent? Lol that's the oldest trick in the book- one that we are all too familiar with here due to theists doing that shit all the time on the debate forum.
OK, are you here to actually have a constructive discussion with us, or are you just here to concern-troll?
@Christina Worldie: Some people just have WAAAAAAAY too much time on their hands. Most of the delusional idol worshipers that visit the site are theists. We just don't have a clue about what to do with you. Then again??? Hmmmmm?
Every village does need an idiot? HEY TIN! OLD MAN! Can you guys scoot to the side and make room for one more?
@Cog Re: "HEY TIN! OLD MAN! Can you guys scoot to the side and make room for one more?"
Hell no! The idiot section is full. And she sure ain't sittin' in MY lap. Besides, she ain't even wearing the right type of jingle-jingle bells on the tip of her hat. Contrary to popular belief, we idiots DO have standards, ya know.
@Sorry Heard: No room at the INN, but you seem the type that would be perfectly comfortable in a manger. How about a cave?
@Christimna Worldie
"Amber Heard is not what you paint her as - and obviously Richard Dawkins agrees"
As I mentioned in my last post, I have no idea who Amber Heard might be or why I should care what she says.
Are you under the impression that Richard Dawkins is some kind of atheist spokesperson or leader? Sorry to rain on your parade, but there are no such things. Dawkins speaks for Dawkins
... and obviously Richard Dawkins agrees"...
Oh, Cranky, this is such a convincing argument for “supporting” her! Come on man - Richard Dawkins! THE Richard Dawkins!!!! I’m all warm and tingly just thinking about it!
Edited to add: ;) imagine screaming teens at a Beatles or Elvis concert - I’m being facetious
@White
You'll have to excuse me , I'm having an extraordinarily ordinary day , AND the dog just threw up on my bed, again. (he has a delicate tummy)
Support Richard Dawkins? I'd rather eat my own scrotum .
In case you have not gathered, I think prof Dawkins is a bit of a wanker NOT 'the top of his field "in evolutionary biology, but apparently competent. I admit, I did enjoy him hand some irreducible complexity nitwit his head by explaining the evolution of the human eye. (so far)
However, he's on shaky ground when he tries to be philosopher. At best, I think he's an interesting polemicist , like his mate the late Chris Hitchens, who was also a bigot, imo. .
Amber?... Who's Amber?... Never Heard of her... And while I may appreciate her efforts in helping to advance atheism in general, I do not need (nor want) her speaking for me. I am quite capable of speaking for myself should it ever become necessary. Besides, how could she even POSSIBLY speak for me in any way, shape, or form in the first place? She does not know me from Tom's house cat. And she certainly knows MUCH LESS about my life or what I think or feel about anything beyond my not believing in any god(s). And your trying to say there is some type of "Atheist Leaders" out there is much akin to saying there is some type of leader in a herd of wild kittens. I find it rather ironic (and considerably amusing) that somebody who claims she likes to "go against the Status Quo" would come to an atheist chat site and tell a bunch of free-thinking fiercely independent skeptics that they should follow her lead to rally behind some attention-seeking, self-appointed "atheist leader" celebrity whom most of us do not even know... *chuckle*...

... a herd of wild kittens...
So Armin Navabi is not an "atheist leader"? Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and conference leaders are not 'atheist leaders.' That makes no sense at all. I get this is a forum, but come on already! Atheism only spreads with leadership and partnerships! You wanted a political movement!
As for Amber Heard, she's actually very real in person. You cast her as a celebrity, but I said *public figure.* Politicians can be public figures, influencers can be public figures, leaders can be public figures...
As for dangerous situations, the texts in the United Kingdom in the Sun Case show she is innocent, and that her ex JD threatened 'global humiliation' to 'take her breath away' as well as to graphically kill her with collusion with Paul Bettany...
As for me, I'm good with giving her a heart beat compared to those online who give death threats for years...
Further, it recently was shown that lawyer Adam Waldman (who defended a Russian Oligarch accused of organized crime with lobbying in the USA) intimidated a witness who was her personal assistant. A year before, an anonymous person contacted me on social media saying she was an ex-staff partner and they had been on NDAs. They showed fear about JD and Waldman, such as to even show me missing Anthony Fox's photo! The one who was going to testify against Depp after the death of Phoenix in the Viper Room... (attached here)..
You can talk about cats, or nonsense, or whatever. But, this is just another public forum record. That's all...
You *should* care if you are reading this. People rarely speak out for causes because of blacklisting and retaliation. There have been many Hollywood people targeted in history, but often people only talk about it decades later... According to Dawkins, they don't even show scientists in a positive light there.

I don't know who any of those people are.
I care. I care about doing the right thing, in assisting those who need it. I also care enough to make sure my name is not blindly attached to any movement just because of a celebrity name.
If I was to back any young lady who speaks loudly on important issues, it would be Greta.

Are you an atheist? Just curious...you don’t have to be, but holy fuck, you don’t seem to know anything about your “audience” you’re trying to convert...
...also, like, social distancing is the thing now and uh, there’s this thing called YouTube I can, like, watch if I want to listen to, like our leaders. You know, like maybe Amber can like, you know be an atheist leader there, her own channel or something. Cool.
@whitey
LOL...like totally. LOL

RE: Atheism only spreads with leadership and partnerships!
WE SHURE WONT GIT FARE WIF IDGETS AMUNGST US.
Thank you for sharing your ignorance.
RE: "Amber Heard, actually very real in person" As opposed to what? A monkey? What does a non-real person look like? A TIN MAN! HA! You are nothing but a BIGOT. Ole Tinny is as real a person as I am! He he he he ....
OH FOR FUCK SAKE --- GO JOIN A FAN CLUB SITE!!!
@OP
You don't seem to know that, a petition is started for action towards a goal. From what I can gather from you, there is no goal for your petition...other than boosting someones popularity...in which a fan club is much more suited...at least with a fan club, you could generate income for yourself, to be educated on correct applications of petitions maybe. Anywho, I don't even know who amber heard is, If she has not come up in my humanitarian endeavors, my career's or interaction with the real world...I likely never will. Celebrity, is a speacial thing, for special people, and you are asking me to become part of a special herd? (excuse the pun) No thanks.
@doG: RE: Part of the HEARD! Moooooooo. Mooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Moooooooooooo!

@Cog Re: "Part of the herd."
Hey, you mean, "Part of the Heard," right?
@TIN: I heard what you said but didn't understand it. NEVER MIND!
Yes, part of the Heard! I'll change it!
@bananamilk
I think, lemmings would be more apropo.
Are not skeptics, usually immune to herd mentality?
@doG Re: "Are not skeptics, usually immune to herd mentality?"
Oh, absolutely! Practically impervious to it. But in THIS case we are dealing with the Heard mentality. A completely different animal that requires a specialized set of defenses. We will simply have to resist its Siren Song by sheer force of will until those specialized skills to repel it can be mastered. Stay strong, everybody! We CAN overcome!
Pssstttt Cog - that Raven cow guy might want to do something “graphic” to you if he sees your pic... careful bud ...
Whitefire13: HA! Jokes on her! I'm wearing my butt plug! I will not wake up all chaffed and wondering what happened the night before again.
I think she pops her head in about every week just to frustrate herself with our celebrity stupidity.
@Whitefire
"I think she pops her head in about every week just to frustrate herself with our celebrity stupidity."
I do wish she wouldn't. There's more than enough celebrity stupidity without her sticking her oar in.
I understand "Evangeline Lilly' "is also some kind of a celebrity. Her attitude is pure Darwin Award. The response from Queen Of The North, Sophie Turner is pretty good :
"If anyone knows the value of self-isolating, it’s the Queen in the North, and Sophie Turner has some thoughts on people who refuse to do it.
Last week, “Ant-Man” and “Lost” star Evangeline Lilly drew criticism after she said on Instagram that she doesn’t plan to self-quarantine during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
The actor, who was born in Alberta and raised in B.C., said she’s immune-compromised and she’s living with her father, who has stage 4 leukemia. But when her followers questioned her stance in the comments, given how dangerous the refusal could be, she doubled down. Replying to one person, she wrote: “Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives.” In another comment, she added: “Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu.
On Friday during an Instagram Live where she chose a bobblehead filter, Turner ― without mentioning Lilly by name ― seemed to offer a blunt rebuttal: “Don’t be fucking stupid.”

POST SCRIPTUM: It is my wont to read Huffpost Australia, US,UK and Canada every day. Doesn't take long because the lead stories are pretty much the same. I read them for local content.
@cranky
Ya...lets follow what braindead actors/actresses say because they are physically attractive...that makes perfect sense. (incert rolly eyes here).
That’s right doG!!! Re: attractive actors-
They’re physical attractiveness serves only one purpose... googles Ryan Reynolds... only one
Ry Ry eh? LOL. I think he knows he is googled every few minutes 24/7...likely not a bad feeling...I'm guessing.
