Concise epistemology

Hello! I'm Neva and new.
When practicing "street " epistemology I notice that even when asking for evidence and reason from the interlocutor they seem to slip out of the argument and say faith is the reason something works. If I ask how would they know it came from god I got the answer they didn't know.
Any tips for managing slippery logic?
