As an atheist doctor who is from Syria I am facing a hard time sharing my thoughts and beliefs. I believe the smartest decision I have ever took is leaving Islam. Although my dad will hate me for this I wish someday I can talk with him briefly about it, and share with my community what I think. This page is a hope for all those hidden atheists that face death every day in a hostile environment. And I would like to thank the ones who created such great thing. Thanks

Being an atheist is not easy who is living in a islamic country. I became atheist totally by myself and was depressed. I couldn't share it with anyone. But, eventually I found Atheist Republic on facebook. It was an amazing experience .

am from Ghana; proudly Atheist. I always wanted to meet my fellow atheist to share ideal on how we can also educate people about their religion ignorance. It is time Africa Atheist to start preaching to eradicate the religion ignorant in our people. Thanks for this community.

I'm just from somewhere in the EAST of AFRICA where the word "atheist" still suprises people, AR helped me to feel that I'm not the only one and this boosted my confidence! keep helping others especially here where we are still few !

I am from a Muslim majority country and have never thought that I could express myself. But, then there I have found AR and it helped me to opine and meet the equal-minded people.

I'm happy to find a place that I feel accepted in. I'm normally repressed or insulted for expressing perfectly logical discussions about religion. If we must accept and live amongst religion, then religion must accept us!

I live in the country that was under communist regime at the time I grew up, so I was not pressured to be a part of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity, that was predominant in my culture. After the fall of the communism, many discovered religion, and it became integral part of Serbian identity; but even in these new circumstances, I can freely express my lack of belief, without fear of any consequence. I have a freedom to express myself, but I lacked the friends' understanding. Your vision of Atheist Republic made a leeway for people like me to find each other. There, I found many people whose friendship is of outmost importance to me. People that I think of as a part of my family. Friends with whom I can be myself, without fear of them not understanding, so I no longer feel lonely or lost. In there, I also found the love of my life; the woman that is perfect in every possible way. Your vision created the path for us to find each other. I can only imagine of how much importance this is to people whose lives can even be at stake if they freely express themselves. I want to thank you for having the vision that made all this possible.

When living in the Bible Belt, it's great to have a community to go to where one is not ostracized for being a non-believer!

Being an Atheist in an otherwise pretty religious town can get lonely at times. Luckily, the internet also has a place where I can talk with others about my belief in facts. Thank you Atheist Republic!

I (personally) do not have anything against the person who chooses to believe in a deity, I only have a problem when the person wants to impose their beliefs on the next person. As long as the religious continue to force their beliefs into governmental institutions and all the umbrellas that govern all of us, I will have something to say. As long as children are indoctrinated at a tender age and forced to have their bodies strapped with explosives in the name of some idiots' fucked up beliefs, I will have something to say. As long as the sick, vulnerable and desperate people are ripped off by some lazy fucktards who dress in white suits and call themselves 'pastors' only to be told that they weren't healed because they apparently didn't have 'enough faith', I will most definitely have something to say. That's my take, I SALUTE THE FUCKING 'ATHEIST REPUBLIC' AND OTHER REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENTS LIKE IT!!!!

I am from Zambia, the only country in the world where 'Christian Nation' is inscribed in the constitution and the President has vowed to rule by the 10 commandments, so the few Atheists here are forced underground. AR is the only place of refuge for me.

Am from ethiopia where a christianity is dominant...I have been an atheist for a few years now but I have never had any one I can talk to about it. My entire family are christians and when I bring it up, they get mad at me and try and convert me back to a christian. It always ends up in a fight between me and my religion freak family. I feel as if I have never been religious. My family is Christian, yet I grew up never fully believing. I was one who asked questions, and got no answers. Then I found out about Atheism, and was excited that there were other people who were the same as myself. So, this site not only lets me ask my questions, but also acts as a medium to allow other Atheists, such as myself, to let ourselves be known. I thank Atheist Republic everyday for that. We are Atheists. We are people. We are human.
