Discovery of Native Graves Renews Probe of US Christian Boarding Schools

From the 19th to 20th centuries, Canadian churches operated at least 150 boarding schools for children of aboriginal tribes. Officials have exposed hundreds of unmarked graves on the surrounding properties. Approximately 150,000 native children attended these schools for more than a century. Sadly, the National Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Canada determined 3,201 native children died due to unsatisfactory conditions, malnourishment, and abuse.

 

17-year Old Indian Girl Killed for Wearing Jeans During Hindu Ritual

In a heart-wrenching video taken in Deoria City in the Uttar Pradesh State, India, police are seen trying to retrieve the body of Neha Paswan as onlookers stand by. The 17-year old was beaten by her extended relatives, including her grandfather and her uncles, on Monday, July 19th. The severe beating rendered her unconscious. This prompted Neha’s assailants to say that they were bringing her to the hospital.

A Christian woman who is a regular debater at Hyde Park’s Speakers’ Corner in the United Kingdom was recently stabbed by an unidentified assailant. A video that captured the incident has been circulating online. The video, published by The Daily Mail on July 25th, shows a man recording a usual Sunday morning at the Speakers’ Corner.

UK Teacher 'Still in Hiding' After Showing Cartoon of Prophet Muhammad

In March 2021, a teacher showed his students a cartoon of Prophet Muhammad by the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo during a lesson at Batley Grammar School. His action sparked protests outside the school, with dozens of people deeming it "inappropriate" and some of them demanding him to be fired.

 

Funeral of Ahmadi Woman Attacked By Pakistani Mob

On June 5, a funeral procession of an Ahmadi woman in Safdarabad, Punjab, was attacked on its way to the cemetery by a local mob led by right-wing Muslim clerics. The mob opposed the idea of having an Ahmadi person being buried near a Muslim graveyard.
