95% of Conservative Christians voted for and support Donald Trump.. WHY.. Most of you are smarter than me so maybe you can answer WHY. I will listen to your answer and be in awe of your hopefully intelligent answer. I can't figure it out. WHY

Hillary was Satan. Haven/t you heard?
fiat: " Why conservative Christians support Donald Trump."
Who gives a damn?
rmfr
Most probably because he was on the republican ticket and evangelicals will not vote democrat. It would be interesting to see if they would vote for a conservative atheist if their only other choice was democrat.
I'll admit to not being entirely aux fait with all the nuances of US politics, but I'm dubious you'll get an atheist presidential candidate in my lifetime. Let alone a Republican atheist presidential candidate.
Though I see the irony behind the hypothetical obviously.
Yossarian: "Most probably because he was on the republican ticket and evangelicals will not vote democrat. It would be interesting to see if they would vote for a conservative atheist if their only other choice was democrat."
I wonder how many would vote Libertarian?
@fiat
You've done it again but I'm going to go ahead and reply, anyway, just to set you straight.
First off, nowhere NEAR 95% of "conservative christians" voted for Trump. This is yet another baseless assertion and it's things like this that make people roll their eyes at you and make snarky comments.
The ones that did, though, most likely did so because they felt like he was the candidate they wanted to vote for.
Unfortunately, though, you're barking up the wrong tree here. You're asking ATHEISTS why a bunch THEISTS do the things they do.
You DO realize we're not theists, right? And you do realize that as atheists, we can't speak for what motivates theists, right?
I asked an interesting question, why conservative Christians support and voted for Donald . Just asked a reasonable thinking question. I asked this question because Christians pray to God..it seems hypocritical to think they are so religious and support an evil ugly horrible racist. I don't understand many of you badger and belittle me. Sometimes if I just a question to the forum. This is a legitimate Question. Waiting for the criticism and belittling to begin . Who goes first
@fiat
It's NOT an interesting question, at all.
It's poorly formed, it is just as poorly INFORMED (95%? Really?), it's provocative (as is this latest statement), and it does little more than display your overwhelming obsession with Trump.
Christians praying to "god" has nothing to do with this and you spewing vitriolic nonsense won't change that.
Please don't post another topic until you learn SO MANY THINGS.
@fiat
Honestly, If you paid attention to anything but the rattlings on in your own mind you would know exactly why you feel badgered and belittled. Terraphon was quite clear on the matter. Had I given a shit about the topic, one that is long over and dead, (No longer relevant IMO.) I actually might have responded similarly instead of just being flip.
SO THIS IS WORTH REPEATING: "It's poorly formed, it is just as poorly INFORMED (95%? Really?), it's provocative (as is this latest statement), and it does little more than display your overwhelming obsession with Trump."
You seem to make blind assertions and assume you are correct a lot. People around here are going to fact check you every time. This is not a site for dummies. And when you get fact checked the honorable thing to do is concede the point and move on or cite your sources and dig in for the DEBATE. A debate, after all is a discussion over the interpretation of the facts. 'FACTS" don't change. It appears you have difficulty separating your opinions from actual FACTS.
@fiat, respectfully, I really don't understand you here. Terraphon had a point... You asked atheists why Christians voted the way they did, implying that you are wondering what the link is between Christianity and their voting history. It's possible someone here may have researched that, but this is a question for either a Christian forum or a US Conservative or Republican Party forum.
I mean, that's like asking me why people have kids. I got no kids and I got snipped a few years back. If someone asks me why parents had kids, my answer is "Darned if I know, kids are gross." So why ask me? Ask some for real parents about that.
And if you would like to know why Christians voted a certain way, ask Christians. *shrug*
Edit: In case you want to know my actual answer as to why Christians voted for Trump, it is: Darned if I know. Trump is gross.
Who the fuck knows?! Ask them lol
That's like going into a astronomy meeting and asking why groups of oxygen deprived skidmarks believe the earth is flat...
Who knows? Probably an absolute fuck ton of reasons...
- Hillary looks like haunted tupperware.
- Bernie looks like a sad face drawn onto a scrotum.
- Conservative strongholds could be in Christian areas.
- Christian's may be under a psychological trick by the Russians.
- Protest vote
- Trump is a change from the usual politician
- May have offered a manifesto that plays to Christian values.
- Christian's believe any old bollocks, so why not.
- God told them too
- Satan tricked them
The list is bloody endless.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA: "Groups of oxygen deprived skid-marks." I gotta get together with some of the people from this site and attend a church service some day. It would keep me in stitches for the rest of my life. Tin Man talking in tongues, waving his arms in the air and running up and down the isles. Old Man tossing hymn books at the pulpit in a manner befitting a tourettes victim. Sheldon and Nyarlathotep sitting in the back cutting and pasting the Bible to fix it. Skeptical Kevin passing out cups of holy water. Cyber making sure we don't drool on each other and trying to calm down the regular congregation. David Killens, knees clutched to chest, rocking back and forth in a corner wondering why the fuck he agreed to hang out. doG in charge of donations cuz we are going to need beer money after this and who can say "No" to a gorilla. Cog, writhing on the floor, battling the demons within. And everyone shouting for Randomhero1982 to take the pulpit and share the word of God. (Edited for Rohan M.) Who is outside sitting in the car with the engine running just in case the police show up. (Edited for Bad Santa) We are going to hang him on the cross cuz he is the closest thing we have to Jesus. Then we can set RatSpits tail on fire and just let him run through the congregation. I't gonna be a hoot!
@Cog Re: Attending a church service.
I'm in!!!.... *clapping gleefully*....
@Cognostic, if I'm in charge of the holy water, every fourth person is getting seltzer water.
@Cog
Hey, unless you have some sort of secret plans for Arakish, we could use him near the front door to trip up the regular congregation if they try to chase us when we bug out!
Can I load the hymn books with caltrops and detonators?
You are in charge of the prayer books my man. I am too busy writhing on the floor to pay attention.
I'm in!
"And today's hymn will be 'glory hole' sung by steel panther...."
My sermon to end it would be hearty though, full of knowledge, wisdom, honesty and from the heart....
"Why am I wasting my fucking time with you colossal fuckwits?"
"No, Jesus didn't rise from the dead... how many of your loved ones have come back, NONE... BECAUSE THEYRE DEAD!"
"And stand up, now jump, I SAID JUMP... Did you fly? No?? That's because of fucking gravity!"
"Your all pointless, gullible primates, wanting to hang on to the thought of an imaginary friend, because you fear death and the blackness and deep unknowing it represents... you cannot comprehend that none of you are special and are all equally worthless".
"You're all bags of water in a flesh suit, none of you matter and hopefully your imminent deaths will free up valuable oxygen for those with their critical thinking facilities in tact!!!"
"Errr... and now if the godparents will step forward for baby Timothy, we shall commence this blessing..."
...*running up and down aisle waving arms in air*.... Glory be!... *pant-pant-pant*.... Preach it, Pastor Random!... *stopping in middle of aisle*... *stooped over with hands on knees*... *breathing heavily*... *standing up straight*... *placing two fingers to throat to check pulse*.... Phew! Alright! Almost made a full trip down and back! Excellent!... *pant-pant-pant*... *sitting down in nearest pew to rest*.... Hey, guys, I've been practicing speaking in tongues.... *pulling Snickers bar and a bottle of STP fuel additive from pocket*... Give me a few minutes to rest and refuel, and I'll toss a sample at you to see what you think... *wiping sweat from forehead*... Wow. Never knew being religious could be so exhausting...
I’ll piss in the baptism water just so I can snicker the next time they use it!
TERRPHON. You proved my point
It may be only 78 per cent of Conservative Christians who voted for DONALD Trump.I exsagerated Terrphon you. fell into.the trap. You.belittled me and criticized me just for presenting an interesting question. Just liked I thought you would. If you didn't like the post you could have ignored it. But you ridiculed me. Besides IT IS INTERESTING post. Terraphon. You have a problem...I am wai6ing for you to answer this post with A screaming post calling Mr stupid and other names
DONT disappoint me. Kisses
@ Kenny
No, when you start a question or statement with a LIE it is not 'interesting'. It is dishonest.
Then to persist when the lie is handed back to you wriggling like a little worm on a hook you start to whine about "belittled" shows a crass immaturity I am astonished to see demonstrated on a public forum.
Nobody "ridiculed you" you. If you want to see 'ridiculed' just ask me for a lesson. Stop behaving like a whiny 3 year old and ask reasonable questions from reasonable people.
If you find it too hard to post without lying or whining, dont fucking post.
Well if its ridicule someone wants, I think we can oblige if he asks nicely gentleman/mechanoid...

Sittin' in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love
Second comes marriage
Then comes Kenny with a baby carriage.
Holy Jesus on a popsicle stick, dude, you are starting to sound like a twisted version of "Fatal Attraction". Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me to find out the Secret Service keeps tabs on you because of a slew of warped fan mail and love letters you send to Trump. Fookin' Christ on a bicycle! Get over it already, man!
@fiat
As old man said, the post is NOT interesting. You started it off with a lie. Lies aren't interesting. The question you posed isn't interesting, either. Why did so many [insert group here] do [insert action here] is about as boring a question as one could ask of someone who isn't a sociologist.
Not a single person here cares why conservative christians voted for whomever they voted for...And you still don't have the number right, which shows that you can't, or won't, do your research (No, that's not ridicule, that's pointing out a demonstrable FACT).
Also, I didn't belittle YOU, I belittled the content of your post. I belittled the argument. I belittled the lie. I belittled the childish way in which you obsess over ol' Donnie.
I don't do screaming. Screaming is stupid. You'll just have to learn to live with disappointment. I also can't be goaded into hostile confrontation so you can save your energy for something more useful like doing research before you make a claim.
Toodles!
TERRPHON. You proved my point

fiat, I don't want to be the one to kick you in the nuts, but at this moment I am tempted to be one who holds your arms. You began this post with a wild assertion that is factually incorrect. You did not lay a trap, you make a mistake. Please be honest.
You played the sympathy card a few days back, but you don't get another chance with me.
To answer the OP, Trump himself is not religious. But he gained the support of the conservative christian lobby by promising to roll back laws that those christians wanted wiped out. And he delivered, many progressive social reforms have been squashed and those conservative christian groups are very happy with Mr Trump.
Old man you proved my point. Read your post.almost every word is a rant of ridicule and criticism
