Mormon(moron), now you are just lying. Mormons ( I have been around them all my life) Belive in the holy trinity. That means they believe that god, jesus, and the holy ghost are one in the same. Geesh, get a fucking education before you come here. At least know your own fucking religion!
@I am a mormon: "We do not believe that Jesus is God, we believe that he is the son of God"
How does that work? From a genetic point of view, shouldn't the son of god at least be a demigod, like Helen of Troy for example? She was the daughter of Zeus/Jupiter and a mortal woman, just as Jesus was supposed to have been the son of Jehovah and Mary. Don't you believe Jesus had the magical powers claimed in the New Testament, like water-walking, wine-production?
AlphaLogica - "Christianity: this is actually an umbrella term coined by Jimmy Carter"
I don't understand what you mean by that; I really don't think Carter coined the term Christianity.
N/A
I still don't understand. The terms Christianity and Christian were in wide use long before Jimmy Carter was born.
@Nyarlathotep
Ok so I stand corrected the first recorded use of the term Christian(or its cognates in other languages) is in the New Testament, in Acts 11:26, after Barnabas brought Saul (Paul) to Antioch where they taught the disciples for about a year, the text says: "[...] the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."
Scientology is a pretty bad "religion"

My coworker and I have a theory that David miscaviges' wife is being held in one of these trailers. Tom and David are enjoying their bromance while she is being mistreated and missing from society.

Mormons believe that we are the spirit children of god the father and we had a prelife with him, and we can possibly become like god in power but junior and be able to create our own worlds to be gods of. The believe in a Holy Mother and that god the father literally had sex with Mary. They have their own holy books the most notable being the Book of Mormon.
So are Mormons christian? Well they do believe in a Christ the savior. But the Mormon deviation from mainstream or even fringe christianity is as different from Christianity is as Christianity is from Judaism, or even more different. My belief is the only reason they call themselves Christian is because they want to fit in, and they have a history of being persecuted.
Islam, because it is doing the most harm today in terms of its backward views regarding society and science, and its command to wage war until everyone is Muslim.
Sapporo,
Americanism the religion is very similar to Islam. It has been converting the world for the past 100 years.
It generally doesn't blow people up or decapitate people for not buying Coca Cola, so I cannot say I see a strong resemblance.
Sapporo,
It blows people up if they don't adopt our culture.
That actually isn't a bad summary of US foreign policy.
all of them but islam is the most dangerous and the most violent
My top three worst religions in the world:
1. Terrorism or terrorists. Idk, is this Islam? But I know that these "people" don't believe the same things as Muslims so they're kind of in their own religious group. They're the worst.
2. Buddhism -because my friend wants to convert from a Christian to a Buddhist which I know is her choice but hurts me so much.
3. Every other religion is tied third place.
When I was a kid, when someone said terrorists it conjured images of Catholics.
They are all as equally retarded as each other...
So you are not a Trinarian Christian. So what. Most of the Christians are. If you are going to imply that you do not believe in the trinity, why not also explain what kind of a Christian you are. JW believe Jesus was only a prophet as do the Muslims. Perhaps you are one of the deluded JWs or Muslims. Are you an Adoptionist? Let's see mpw/ There is Unitarianism, Binitarianism, Modalist groups, Latter Day Saints, Arianism,, or some other minor sect that does not believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are one in the same. Please share. Else-wise, all that is said regarding the Christian faith is on target. You can't just call yourself a Christian, deny the trinity, and then assume you are correct. You belong to a minor sect.
Sorry, I didn't mean to include Christians as well but I usually think of what I have as a relationship rather than a religion. Differentiating between the two, that's the reason for #3.
Jesus is the answer, he is the real peacemaker.allow him into your life and you will never be the same.
As far as mormonism goes, anything can be googled
Part 4 of this series (on the Trinity) where Mormonism goes wrong in its view of how Jesus fits into the Mormon view of God. The LDS Church teaches that God the Father (and Heavenly Mother) procreated billions of spirit children. Their firstborn spirit son, Jesus Christ, was also the first of their children to become a God. The Mormon “Godhead” is not one God but a ruling council of three Gods. One of the most regrettable consequences of this faulty theology is that Mormons do not pray to Jesus Christ. The Old Testament constantly represents Jehovah (and note that Mormons admit that Jesus was Jehovah) as the only God to whom people should pray (e.g., Deut. 9:26; 1 Kings 8:22-30; Ps. 5:1-3). The New Testament teaches believers to pray both to the Father (e.g., Matt. 6:6-13; Luke 11:1-3; Eph. 3:14-16) and to Jesus (John 14:14; Acts 1:24-25; 7:59-60; Rom. 10:12-13; 1 Cor. 1:2; 2 Cor. 12:8-10; etc.).
as an irish descendant to hear that here in North America the irish are the church there priest nuns and other workers in the church. And there kind of proud of their heritage especially when they drink like there`s no tomorrow on saint patricks day. in fact saint patricks day goes quite a way back there all decked out in the wearing of the GREEN, They are very proud and boastful especially the older ones. and yes some are prejudiced toward there fellow christians, a kind of arrogance if you will.
I would say they're all equally bad. At the moment though, Islam is the worst. The killings that go on in the name of the religion of peace are baffling. If I had lived 500 years ago, I would say the Catholic Church was the root of all evil. All religions aim to eradicate free thinking, have punishments for thought crime, for what you think and want you to sing eternal praise of the invisible guy in the sky.
