We didn't have the issue of school shootings when we put God first.

Yeah unfortunately true. May

Yeah unfortunately true. May as well be trying to throw "facts" at a wall, none will stick.

Since when is prayer not

Since when is prayer not allowed in school?

Since when is prayer not

Since when is prayer not allowed anywhere, and how on earth could anyone stop it? What he obviously means is they want to force everyone to pray, regardless of whether they believe or not, and regardless of whether they want to or not. FWIW I think a person has to be pretty low to use the murder of 17 children to try and promote their religious beliefs.

Ah yes! The Golden Days when

Ah yes! The Golden Days when prayer was allowed in U.S. schools! Back when they kept those colored kids from attending the same high schools as whites and Lynchings were free of the stigma of criminality!

@Paul Pores: We didn't have

@Paul Pores: We didn't have the issue of school shootings when we put God first.

Most of the worst massacres in history were done by people who really put god first.

Mountain Meadows: Mormons
St Bartholemews Day: Catholics
Siege of Jerusalem (1099): Catholics
Siege of Magdeburg (1630) Catholics
Rwandan genocide (Catholics)
Ethnic cleansing in former Yugoslavia: Orthodox

I'm sure others will be able to add to this appalling list.

By all means, let's go back to the good old days, the days before your filthy, cancerous religion began to pollute the Earth.

@Pp,

@Pp,

How would you feel if your local school taught your kids that Islam or Buddhism is the correct religion, or strongly gave that impression implicitly? If you can't handle that then don't shove your God down the throats of others--especially captive, impressionable school children. Public schools are not there to brainwash kids in the locally favored religion!

What part of "religious freedom" don't you understand? If you are an American, then shame on you! God does not belong in public classrooms! If you learn nothing here, then learn that much. It's a direct consequence of what we call "religious freedom."

Right. If they were allowed

Right. If they were allowed to push religion in school here (in Nevada) it would undoubtedly be Mormonism. That would get lots of Christians hot as fuck under the collar.

I certainly have grave doubts about it reducing gun crime.

Outstanding! Cannot get any more plain and clear than that. Way to go, Green! *clap-clap-clap...*

Well, at least you get your own planet when you die. Expensive as hell to join their club, though.

Ha ha ha .... When god was

Ha ha ha .... When god was first we had SLAVERY, WITCH BURNING, LACK OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS, SHUNNING, MAGICAL THINKING FOR AILMENTS, ANTI-SCIENTIFIC THINKING, PERSECUTION OF SCIENCE, AND MORE. We have taken the time and spent the energy dragging the religious kicking and screaming from the shadows of their Dark Age pews and into the light of day but all they want to do is crawl back into their holes. It's a sad, sad, thing. Correlation is not causation.

PSYCHOLOGY does a much better job of explaining this phenomena than does your invisible, omnipresent, omnipotent, all loving, magical, sky daddy. "The ethologist John B. Calhoun coined the term "behavioral sink" to describe the collapse in behavior which resulted from overcrowding. Over a number of years, Calhoun conducted over-population experiments on Norway rats (in 1958–1962) and mice (in 1968–1972).[1] Calhoun coined the term "behavioral sink" in his February 1, 1962 report in an article titled Population Density and Social Pathology in the Scientific American weekly newspaper[2] on the rat experiment.[3] Calhoun's work became used as an animal model of societal collapse, and his study has become a touchstone of urban sociology and psychology in general."

Or, we could just put people's lives first and take away the semi-automatic weapons designed to kill lots of people. *shrug*

There you go again with your facts, and your iron clad logic, this won't do at all. I'll pray for you...

Holy shit, Sheldon! I'm SO glad I wasn't eating or drinking anything when I read that. Probably would have choked to death. LMAO!

Oh yes, that's my penchant

Oh yes, that's my penchant for believing in the scientific method, my bad. The funny thing is, I don't even own a test tube or Petri dish so it obviously can't come from personal experience.

See, the issue is; if we do it Paul's way then we don't actually solve the problem.

"Obviously God wanted those innocent souls or that evil person wouldn't have appeared out of nowhere and mowed them down in a violent burst of pain and agony."

We just make more excuses.

@Kata Re: "...if we do it Paul's way then we don't actually solve the problem."

One important thing you missed that makes PP's way soooo much better, though, is that by blaming god and/or the devil, everybody else can sleep with a clear and happy-happy conscious because they do not have to accept any responsibility for all the bad shit that happens. Therefore, they don't feel any pressure to take realistic steps to solve the problems. Ain't that just a peachy-wonderful thing? *clapping hands excitedly*

Christianity gave us over two

Christianity gave us over two thousands years of murder, war, rape, injustices,and now we should suddenly say "oh wait, it's the safest for our children"?

When it comes to violence and social injustice, religion has proven it's a big fail. It doesn't work, it has failed people for thousands of years.

God is the reason a good

God is the reason a good portion of these mass murderers are the way they are. I tried to stay away from that lunacy and chose to use the Golden Rule and try and help victims.
