Over the years we have had some pretty lame excuses to veil proselytizing by theists on this forum. Above are just a few that I can remember.
Many of the times they pretend that they are doing a project for a class. It's obvious that they are just here to proselytize. I really don't understand their fascination with us. I don't know what they hope to achieve. My guess that it is some kind of scavenger hunt for christians.
I don't know any atheist that
1) tries to disguise who they really are.
2) Constructs a sham of a survey or school project
&
3) Tries to convert theists on their own forum
Also, I don't know of ANY atheist attempt to spam a religious site. We get spammed all the time. For people (theists) that claim that they are a peace loving group, that respect individual rights, that think everyone has free will, they sure behave like hypocrites!

Sometimes the lost causes are the ones upon which the most time and energy is wasted. For theists, we're that lost cause. Deep down, they know we'll never convert. But they keep coming back because of the senseless notion that someone will give them an A for effort. It's an exercise in futility that makes theists feel like they've done some heroic act or some noble undertaking. A bit like praying, really.
Some of them might actually think that they are trying to save our souls from eternal damnation. If that is the case for an individual I can't fault their reason for it... They're trying to help. They're just very wrong about what constitutes as help.
Surveys always turn out to be long distance relationships!
The really funny thing is that most of these posts are "drive-bys". They post some ridiculous post then never stick around to see the results. Some last a few replies but not long. Once they see that their effort is worthless they just evaporate.
My guess, and I have said this many times, is that youth ministers actually recruit young church members into harassing atheists in the guise of doing something "good for the lord". They all seem to be young (20 somethings) claim that they are in some sort of school (probably bible study in reality) and have a message that we haven't heard before. When they realize that most of the atheists were once christian, but also are far more knowledgeable about christianity than they are, they leave realizing they are WAY over their head.
Speaking of stupid shit, has anybody noticed all the crap that just started popping up from that fuck-tard "AbdulHussain"? That mo-fo is annoying to the max.
aww c'mon hes a legit fortune teller/medium/love potion mixer and spell caster. I know cos he says that. He can help you pass your exams...

Until a few months ago, all of the forums were deluged daily by hundreds of messages from crap artists like Abdul Hussain. I believe that thanks are due to Nyarlahotep and CyberLN for their efforts behind the scenes to sweep out this trash.
We are still deluged daily. They are just usually deleted before you ever see them.

I understand, buddy. Hang in there! Quick! Before the damage becomes permanent, calculate about a dozen basic algebra problems, and then read a couple of passages from your favorite Shakespeare play. That should help in the recovery process.

1. Atheism is a belief.
2. Atheism is a religion.
3. Atheism requires faith (my favourite)
4. Evolution is false because I (insert random creatards name) have questions none of you atheists can answer.
5. Science only accepts evolution as a fact because of an atheistic conspiracy.
...and I haven't been here that long, it seems that they're in a rush to post every cliched piece of apologetics there is.
