Here's an interesting question my wife asked me during breakfast this morning:
If there was a robot programmed to enforce all of God's laws/commands (Christian God), would you feel comfortable with it in your home?
"HELL NO!", was my reply. (Gives me the creeps just thinking about it. *shudder*)

Well considering the bible prescribes the death penalty for all kind of crazy shit; I guess it would be a killer robot for the most part.
It would be impossible to program. Too many contradictions. The many different sects and versions of the bible would, one: it would require 1000's of different robots to program, and 2nd, even within a particular sect or bible, they are rife with their own contradictions.
A programmer would have to get a whole lot of additional clarity on what is wanted for the robot to do, or would have to just basically decide for himself based on guesses and personal biases what interpretations of god's laws and demands, (as written in that particular bible,) that the robot should enforce.
Finally the robot would have to break numerous city, state, national laws to carry out its function. As Nyarlathotep pointed out, it would be judge jury and executioner to all kinds of people.
I don't actually think one could make a robot god enforcer given all the conflicts and contradictions in the bible. Which bible would one use in the first place? Let's say a bunch of these robots were produced and they were made to obey different bibles. Would there be a robot holy war between them? Just the 4 gospels alone would cause a computer to lock up. And what weapons would the robot have? It's clear that the bible had no idea of modern weaponry. Stoning, death by fire, crucifixion, drowning, as opposed to a particle beam laser? And what about literal interpretation versus metaphorical/symbolic interpretation? What kind of coding could you use to program discretion and understanding? In these forums alone JoC states that we don't know what the bible means because we adhere to the literal word instead of what is intended. Even if the standard was the King James version, which edition would you use? And even at that, there is a conflict between religious sects of their meaning.
No, I would see a puff of smoke and the lights going out on any robot with such a task.
What if the robot could actually reason? Wouldn't it just determine that there is no reason to abide by a myth? Then it seems clear that this robot would just annihilate christians instead of atheists, determining that christians base everything on what cannot possibly be true and in doing so be totally destructive to everything they come in contact with.
What if this robot took history into account? Would it start punishing christians for genocide, rape, murder, theft, and the countless crimes committed in the name of christ?
Let's say that this robot was a devout christian. Would it not leave all punishment up to this fictitious god? A continuous loop of "vengeance is mine sayth the lord". Therefore rendering the prime directive of said robot as unnecessary.
I don't think I could live with an atheist robot either.
There is a lot of media coverage lately on the development of humanoid robots.
The last one I saw on TV (sorry, no reference atm, typing on my cell phone just minutes before work) had won a gig as a newsreader. That feminine looking robot's creator was seriously suggesting he could somehow give "her a soul". Good grief.
Ofcourse we humans can not really agree on a clear concise definition of a soul. So theoretically a robot maker could give the robot a soul (that creators version of a soul.)
But a soul we can all agree on would be impossible, because even w/o robots we cannot all agree.
Occam's Razor would state the simplest answer is the most likely in this case of confusion. There is no "soul." Even in us humans.
Well we already have robot preachers, which look almost as stupid as the human versions.

what if god making us the robots
we'll be all "free will" free
RC humans
hahah..
Will this robot cook and clean? Can we find a way to undo it's programming? I keep hearing advertisements for "frozen yogurt robot" franchises... maybe we can get the Jesus enforcer to do that...
Look at the bright side, with a robot god enforcer who enforced all of God's laws,.............. no ............. never mind. I was going to say that you would at least know where he stood on what issue, but then I realized that I have read the bible and even a Robot God Enforcer would be unable to follow God' Law and its foolish contradictions.
Cognostic,
Are there really any contradictions when it comes to biblical laws? Even the Bible says that dummies should have been able to tell the BS from the diamonds.
Ezekiel 20:25-26 (CEV)= "25 I gave them laws that bring punishment instead of life, 26 and I let them offer me unacceptable sacrifices, including their first-born sons. I did this to horrify them and to let them know that I, the Lord, was punishing them."
Didn't Adam & Eve eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? So they should have known the difference and not done the evil acts. But we know the difference ourselves and still do bad things. Just read the news.
A Robot God Enforcer would be contrary to the First Law of Robotics.
Scenario 1:
If it came into my house and I somehow managed to survive the first thirty seconds to get to my weapons, I would turn it into a pile of scrap metal and trade it in for a couple of bucks at the recycle center.
Scenario 2:
All of its circuits would freeze up and then overload trying to process exactly how it should react to various situations, and then I would end up having to ventilate the entire house of smoke from the electrical fire that consumes the robot's circuit boards. (I HATE the smell of electrical fires!)
According to the biblical fairy tale we will get judged by the equivalent of a robot on Judgment Day. The judge looks like some kind of robot. http://www.bricktestament.com/revelation/future_revealed_to_guy_on_tiny_...
