He said something like: "I gather that if you have to have a stroke, this is a pretty good stroke to have."
It is disgusting that a religious body should say a prayer for an atheist, and not in private. Just taking the piss, I suppose.
I don't see it that way.
It depends on what they are praying for of course.
If they are praying for him to get more strokes its one thing but if they are praying for his well being(regardless of how useless that is) I still consider it an act of good intention on their part.
It is not common that I jump in the theists defense being a hard core anti-theist myself, but I do think that we should not fall so low on hating every intention a theist makes, even if it can be seen as useless and provocative.
I refuse to generalize and say that every theists that prays for the well being of an an atheist does it on bad intentions though.
My mom prays for me all the time and I am sure she loves me more then anything.
It is always nice to know that friends and family are thinking nice thoughts about you.
