You cannot escape bad news. It is on the faces of people you see, friends, relatives, neighbors, the internet and of course the news. The latest killing in Orlando is just more proof of how crazy all religions are to me.
One thing that does bother me though is seeing muslims come out on TV and state that they condemn the acts of terorists.
Why have the christians not come out and apologized for breeding hate towards the LBGT community?
I heard people saying. "May god be with you", "I will pray for them". Where was this being before it happened? Why is it religious people always have answer ready when you ask questions like this?
The devil did it! I hear that one too.
All of these tragic events, all of the mass killings by gun nuts and the very people that embrace a book with ancient writings want to make sure we don't infringe on their right to own one. I do not need one. If you feel you need to own a gun, move somewhere safer!
Commercials for abused animals, kids with no limbs, the starving, the poor, the sick, the homeless. The list is endless! Yet this complacent egomaniac that commands us to all be well and thankful for all of the crap we have to wade through, still wants mankind to worship him for eternity no matter what?
Remember this SOB love you!
It all sounds like a bad movie script written by people that could not think for themselves,Hmmmmm

I agree with you. But there are still more nuts...christian nuts that preach that more gays should have been killed calling them pedophiles.

This is what christianity and all religions are all about. Persecution, bigotry, hatred, war, murder, and power, and much much more!
The preacher in Sacramento is a fanatic. His is a small extreme voice that overpowers the predominate "moderate" forms of homophobia. "Pulse" was a nightclub that was also a community center for the LGBT community. They were huddled together seeking each others company because the overall society they live in has failed to integrate them. The religious moderates who say "I love them but I hate their sinful lifestyles" or "Homosexuality is against nature" are just as guilty in perpetuating the hate. They may not have pulled a trigger but they continue to ostracize gay people - even their own family members. These hateful ideas are much like the antisemitism that kept the European Jewish community isolated into ghettos until Hitler showed up. The Nazi's found the Jews easily. The moderates just pointed.
And let's not forget, delusions galore!
Putting aside the horror for a moment:
After reading about this shooting in Orlando this week, it dawned on me that we are witnessing something at least similar to the sociological ideas of a "2nd or 3rd stage simulacra" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulacra_and_Simulation), or even the comic book version "stand alone complex" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophy_of_Ghost_in_the_Shell#Stand_Alo...). Where we have individuals with no association, committing copy cat crimes, without the presence of an original (copies without an original). I don't put much stock in most of the softer sciences, but it caught my eye. Anyway, just some random thoughts.
ISIS gives instructions online to fanatics like the Orlando shooter to do exactly what he did. Load up, go out and kill, shout your allegiance to them during the act.
Thelargerbowl, post 1: “Why have the Christians not come out and apologized for breeding hate towards the LGBT community?”
Many Christians think homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. It isn’t. They confuse transgender with cross-dressing. They are well-intentioned but ignorant, not intentionally wicked.
Chimp3, post 2: ..religious moderates who say "I love them but I hate their sinful lifestyles" or "Homosexuality is against nature" are just as guilty in perpetuating the hate. They may not have pulled a trigger but they continue to ostracize gay people - even their own family members. Unquote.
Some Islamist killers are undoubtedly sociopathic if not psychopathic and religion isn’t their main motivation, but the Orlando killer, like the 7/7 bombers in London, the would-be murderers who attacked Glasgow Airport in Scotland (and many others) were very nice, well-educated men who saw themselves as doing what was right and just. The evidence that their religion is complicit in their acts is written in their own words and explanations for their acts. To quote the Orlando killer, “The real Muslims will never accept the filthy ways of the West”.
We have seen the same problem from UK Pakistani abuse of white girls in Rochdale UK, to spree killers and Da’esh supporting rants. “Western values” (meaning ordinary human rights and freedoms of expression) aren’t respected in many religious homes, especially Islamic ones.
The Orlando killer’s father probably convinced him “Western society” and “non-Muslim” values were disgusting. Religionists automatically associate what is moral with their religion, but his father accepts no responsibility whatsoever. It must be added that his killer son may have been bi-polar and on steroids.
Quote Orlando killer’s father, “I am deeply saddened and announce this to the people of America [ed: USA], God himself will punish those involved in homosexuality. This is not for the servants of God”. (Source: Mirror.co.uk, 13 June 2016).
The Orlando killings are naturally seen by many as a hate crime against homosexuals, which it was. It may have been the case the killer was self-hating due to sexual orientation. Nonetheless, combining a contempt for 'The West' with the promise of an afterlife where all will be just and martyrs rewarded is a real threat to human life.
