Pure land

Pure land is a place in afterlife where people goes immediately after they died. It will be the place before the soul go to nirvana or be reincarnated again. That was according to Buddhist belief. It can be comparable to the purgatory of Catholics. Any opinion about pure land?

There's no more reason to

There's no more reason to believe it than any other afterlife. It's a nice idea, but that's just it - it sounds like exactly the sort of thing we might come up with to make death less scary. Pure Land (and other afterlives) to me seem to be very obviously invented ideas to improve death.

Just like purgatory, it

Just like purgatory, it basically gives hope to people who think they did not become as good as they should be.

I think you have it here, it

I think you have it here, it is simply something created to derive hope for people, which is what much of religion is about in a sense.

Most afterlives, this one

Most afterlives, this one included, seem like poetic caricatures of what happens to all matter/energy/movement when it changes form. Basically, nice ways to describe things to people who don't dig physics.

What form we become after

What form we become after death? Pure souls? I just wonder what it looks like. I also wonder that if our forms will vary depend on how we perform on our earthly forms.

I also constantly wonder

I also constantly wonder about this, although it is difficult to imagine I think that we will simply transcend this universe into some alternate dimension to be with God.

... what's the nice way to say it...

We probably look like lightening. Free electricity. Although I don't believe our electrical component is any more essential than the rest of us, really.

I agree with that, for organs

I agree with that, for organs can live on with out us. It would imply they too have a independent life and therefore we are a collection of many living things or beings right down to our many kinds of cells which too can still live on without us or their respective born into components. Where would they go and what would they look like when they die? I agree what ever remains of us when we die on a conscience level would probably look like free energy or lightening if anything at all.

I've certainly had a few

I've certainly had a few nights where I've felt like my liver is trying to leave me behind :) But really, it could.

Current thinking in evolutionary biology states that our organs (and the organelles of even single celled organisms) were once parasites that found protection in a simpler cell, and were found to be beneficial to the cell as a whole. The community got together and decided that they should replicate in unison (for the most part) and were cataloged by the nucleus. I've always found it fascinating how a composite being can think as a single one... but I'm not quite sure we do!

Most beings on this earth are composite. I remember being blown away when I realized that an ordinary pine tree is actually 4 different life forms at the same time.

Pureland is out there with

Pureland is out there with dolly world and disney land. They are all real in the imagination of people. The only difference is that disney land has a theme park dedicated to that fantasy. It would be cool to see a heaven and hell theme park.

An opinion other than it's a fictional fantasy is going to require tgat you demonstrate some objective evidence for your claim.

Otherwise Hitchens's razor applies.

That was not according to

Buddha himself rejected the concept of soul so can you tell me how can that be according to Buddhist beliefs.

If people had an afterlife they wouldn't be dead, you could still talk to them because they'd be alive... in the afterlife...

But since people are dead I'd say you're inventing stuff.

But maybe it's just a really popular place since people are dying to get there.
