this is a very unfortunate state of affairs that took place please everyone no matter if your an agnostic or atheist humanist secularist or whatever please say a kind word for this priest. Yes the world is even taking attacks on the clergy itself.We are living in the last days, look up everyone for your salvations draws near.repent and believe the gospel of jesus Christ.

Have you read anything about the history of this case in Australia? There was widespread abuse by priests under his supervision as a bishop and archbishop. When asked at the Royal Commission hearing (like a Senate investigation) why he hadn't taken action, he said he had more important things on his mind. And now he's been directly accused of abuse himself.
All my sympathy is reserved for the victims of this criminal organization.
I reject the claim that all priest are part in a criminal investigation, only 1% of priest are ever involved with sex abuse cases, Priest usually say the mass reside at baptisms weddings do counseling say the last rights funerals etc. They help build the morality that has built catholic education and hospitals. As a catholic I couldn`t offer the sacraments by myself I need an ordained priest to offer that.They preside over the eucharist and make it possible for fellow catholics to live out the catholic life.So please Algebe don`t condemn all priest, bishops popes they are responsible for morality, Being if one adheres to the teaching. It`s up to the individual which way he will go in this life, The catholic church won`t force you to go along with there teachings but the church is usually open to go and sit and kneel and pray to get out of the madness which I call the world system.Thank God for the church a light on a hill that shines forth for all to see.

The catholic church itself estimates that around 7% are involved in Australia. The real figure is probably much higher. Even the ones that aren't involved help to maintain the environment for abuse by looking the other way, and by protecting the molesters.
Do you think this a new problem for the church? How many more centuries do you think it will take to fix it?

It's always been interesting to me that an organization so into the pro-life movement and ''helping'' children, especially the unborn, has been the center of these sex abuse scandals against children. Really sad.
