Now, A lot of theists wonder why atheists get bothered by creationists and their minimal grip on reality...

The evidence isn't strong to support their idiotic outlook and I thought I would share some of the wonderful 'Derp' with you all...

I'll drop the text of it here, creationist replied to an article on the volcanic eruption in Indonesia in this way...

"I have no doubt that CERN, HAARP and Nibiru's proximity are collectively creating this activity"...

She continues her train of Derp with this following gem of wisdom, "I cannot imagine why they need to know such things. I guess they don't believe in magic."

@John Re: "She actually sounds like she's trolling..."

Granted, there is always that possibility. Sadly (and disturbingly), however, I have actually known some folks who genuinely think like that. LOL

I have seen so many of these

I have seen so many of these pages and have visited some of the origins of these as well,
they are very deluded people who believe any old thing they see in a youtube video.

Has anyone seen the spirit science series on youtube and the number of followers they have?

There are many prolific youtubers/bloggers and so on, who spread false information or have no evidence to support their claims, Its quite depressing really.

To be fair I messed up the original comments in my OP. I don't have too much of an issue theists, believe whatever crap you want.

It's creationists I despise, anyone who thinks the earth is a few thousand years old should be strapped to a rocket and fired in to the sun.

I'm new here, so sorry if this is a dumb question, but aren't all theists creationists? Is it possible to be a theist who isn't a creationist?

I thought there were a variety of creationists, mainly varieties of young-earth and old-earth, that all theists fall into.

3point14rat - aren't all

3point14rat - ...aren't all theists creationists?

In my experience, many educated theists believe that god made the universe in such a special way that things like evolution would happen and ultimately produce worshipers. These people are often times NOT categorized as creationists. I'm not defending this categorization, but I think that might be what is confusing you.

I remember a clergyman in New Zealand complaining about a creationist drongo who suggested god had planted dinosaur bones in the ground just to confuse us into thinking the Earth was older than the biblical estimate.

The clergyman said that people like that were making god look like a liar and an idiot. So I guess even creationist cretins have their uses.

Um, not-for-nuthin', but unless I'm mistaken, it seemed to me the main request of the OP was to have folks contribute other "derp examples" they may have. Correct me if I'm wrong, Random. Meanwhile, I'm looking for one.

Some of it I agree is just obviously trolling, especially with flat earthers... but you read some of these pages on Facebook say, and then follow the original groups and see the members and the personal comments on their own pages... They actually believe this garbage!

There was one in particular from a place called Carolina in the US, who was adamant CERN was the cause of the cycle of hurricanes that recently hit the states and carribean.

Normally I find it funny, but you then have to realise that others may be gullible enough to full for this.
