Attitudes to disbelief in god(s) are changing. Increasing numbers of people seem to me to be doubting the superstitions instilled in childhood, but it is a long process. Political "leaders" seem to be more afraid of upsetting perceived public opinion in this matter than showing leadership.
Sir Humphrey: Minister, a minister can do what he likes!
PM Jim Hacker: It's the peoples' will. I am their leader; I must follow them.

Not very surprising in my opinion :/
its so weird that the almighty immortal gods of theirs with their (albeit contradictory) omnipotence and omniscience are afraid of weak, mortal atheists, so much so that they would convince other (moronic) mortals to commit heinous crimes against them but not use their great power to smite us..... ever
P1:I had a box of cherios in my cabnet.
P2:I had milk in my fridge.
P3:I had a clean bowl.
P4:The bowl is dirty now, there is less milk and ceral in their respective containers now.
C1:Therefore, it can be said with reasonable certainty that I ate creal sometime today.
Now, just because I did not mention a spoon does not mean I levitated the ceral to my mouth with my mind. Though a theist might believe me if I claimed that.
Heh, using a proof to establish reasonable certainty is kind of like using a tank to kill a fly. :)
Actually, I was hoping someone would notice that. In fact, you cannot garner that from this scenario, as their is nothing ABSOLUTLY linking the bowl postulate to the cereal and milk postulates.
