There are about a half dozen two year old strings to which responses are being posted as if they are brand new subjects. Welcoming someone to AR who hasn't posted anything in two years is probably an exercise in futility. You might want to check the year of the OP before commenting. :-)

Although I whole heartedly agree with you, I welcome the new blood.
The best way to eliminate that "problem" is to simply lock the threads after so many days have passed, say 30, 45, 60, or 90 days after the last comment. They can still be visible but they will be closed to new comments after the inactive period.
