More money than sense ...?

Interesting read.....

"American Christians suspect they bought fake Dead Sea Scrolls ……. "

"Days after the Museum of the Bible acknowledged purchasing forged Dead Sea Scrolls, more American Christians say they now suspect that they, too, have bought pricey fakes."

"In 2002, new fragments began mysteriously appearing on the market, where many were scooped up by evangelicals eager to own a piece of biblical history and find tangible evidence attesting to their belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Some evangelicals' idolization of Scripture made them easy marks for unscrupulous dealers, scholars say. "

The history of Christianity

The history of Christianity is littered with fake religious relics; a sucker born every minute.

Agreed, except: through religion, they identify themselves as people that do not really concern themselves with demonstrable evidence. Easy marks.

I've got a collection of authentic texts actually written by Jesus himself ... I found them in Glastonbury back in the 60s. Any offers?

Re: Texts written by Jesus

Bah! That's nothin'! I've got the underwear worn by THE Roman guard on THE day he poked Jesus in the ribs with his spear as Jesus was hanging on the cross. The guy who sold them to me swore they were authentic, and he even wrote an official looking letter to prove it. They are all crusty and soiled, with a yellowish stain in front and a brownish stain on the backside, so they MUST be real. Rather thought Romans had better hygiene, though. Then again, I suppose whoever swiped them probably did so before laundry day. The most fascinating thing about them to me, however, is that I had NO IDEA Fruit of the Loom had been in business that long. Wow!

Are you using them for blotter acid?

Wow, a religious relic is fake....

And in other news, the grass is green, the sky is blue and Ken Ham, like the early universe, is incredibly dense.
