I thought since we get this vapid claim from Muslims on here occasionally, we might dedicate a thread to the many victims of this religion of peace, globally.
It's worth remembering that while terrorism gets a massively disproportionate news coverage, especially in the West, most of the victims of this religion live in countries that are strict Islamic theocracies, where they have no rights. Women and girls in particular are victimised and abused in the name of Islam.
Now while we see Islamic apologists on here weasel around koranic texts condoning violence behind the claim extremists are not representative of "most Muslims" it's far harder to wave away the tens of millions of ordinary male Muslims who treat their female relatives as little more than chattel.
Today I will start by highlighting the case of an 18 year old girl, who has fled her abusive Muslim father and country of Saudi Arabia in fear of her life after renouncing her Islamic faith. Let's not forget that SFTwas too much of a coward to answer me when I asked what the penalty for apostasy was in Islam. Well he should be ashamed at the courage of an 18 year old girl who knows only too well what awaits her if she is forced back to Saudi and her father.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.dw.com/en/saudi-teenager-rahaf-mohammed...
"Saudi teenager Rahaf Mohammed Alqunun waits in Thailand on asylum bid. The 18-year-old who says she renounced Islam and fled her abusive family while traveling in Kuwait is to be allowed to stay in Thailand while the UN evaluates her case. She sent out pleas for help via Twitter.'
"Alqunun said she wanted to apply for asylum in a safe country, such as Australia, Canada, the US or the UK. Via Twitter she wrote that she feared for her life if she was sent back to Saudi Arabia where she said she was being forced into a marriage. She also said she had given up Islam."
She has of course been receiving death threats after renouncing Islam, as this despite SFT's reticence, is the penalty throughout most of the Muslim world for those who dare reject that religion.
The religion of "peace"...
As the late Christopher Hitchens once said...
"Many religions now come before us with ingratiating smirks and outspread hands, like an unctuous merchant in a bazaar. They offer consolation and solidarity and uplift, competing as they do in a marketplace. But we have a right to remember how barbarically they behaved when they were strong and were making an offer that people could not refuse."
Bear this in mind the next time ROYISM or SFT start their sickly spiel. Then note how little of theirrhetoric denounces the abuses of human rights that occur daily throughout the Muslim world.
Objective morality anyone?

That's all incredibly fucked up but trust me, feminism isn't the answer. Just....secular egalitarianism. On humanist grounds. That should be the answer to the oppression of women [and men, btw, try to be a man not conforming to social expectations; apostate, failing to provide for your family, gay, of wrong sect, etc.] faced in many countries. Feminism has a tendency to spiral into unwholesome things. Take it from someone who lives in a part of the world that has had the misfortune of "enjoying" cohabitation with feminist ideology.
Rahaf Alqunun is now under the protection of the United Nations. Australia has asked the UN to assess her status. If she is found to be a genuine refugee by the UNHCR, the Australian government will consider her request for asylum. I think Australia was her intended destination.

Saudi Arabia is worse than North Korea. I hope their oil business collapses so their bloated royal family can go back to buggering camels in the dunes.
I remember her story. Then there was another story about a decade ± ago of a 17 year old lady who fled. See used social media for her case. Guess what the UN did? Forced her back to her abusive father (mother had died). Less than two weeks after she was forced back to her father, he killed her for apostasy and dishonor to her father.
Yeah. Islam is a true religion of peace. MY ASS!!
As for ROYISM and SFT, I am just now noticing they ain't been around for some time. Never missed them.

Almost exactly one of PZ Myers's famous quotes on Religion Of Peace™- and my exact thoughts as well.
I've noticed that Muslims practice in peace in the US. As for countries that support punishment for apostasy and blasphemy... well that truly is different.
"I've noticed that Muslims practice in peace in the US. As for countries that support punishment for apostasy and blasphemy... well that truly is different."
That would seem to suggest that both peace, and morality are more influenced by culture than religion, it certainly destroys the hubristic claims for objective morality from Muslims on here like SFT and Royism.
Based on observation, I would like to say so. I've been invited to many events in the homes of Muslim families. There were also people of other races, religions and creeds in attendance to said events. I didn't know what to expect at first, but you start to realize that they're like everyone else. In my experience Muslim families here are friendly and they just want to mind their business, see their children graduate and most of all ... Just live their lives.
Edited for grammatical errors
@Secular: Muslim families here are friendly and they just want to mind their business
Tragically their sons and daughters are too often radicalized by hate-preachers peddling the intolerant version of Islam that flourishes in places like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The purpose of terrorist incidents by radical Islamist groups is to stir up anti-Muslim hatred, which in turn triggers radicalization among Muslim youth in the countries targeted. I think the ultimate goal of this vicious circle is the destruction of secular, Western democracy, and its replacement with an Islamic tyranny.
On the subject of radicalization oh, there's a British mini-series called "White Teeth" that touches on that subject. Not to mention, the show is quite entertaining.
The point you make is nowhere near wrong. At the same time, it seems like the younger generation of Muslims are getting tired of the old ways. Politically and religiously.

The Muslim idea of peace is total submission to Islamic dogma, which may be the true meaning of Islam.
Islam is not a religion of peace, no, its a religion of brutal conquest and brutal occupation laws. The sooner its gone, the better, and not enough is done to eradicate it fully.
I figure that to say that Islam is a religion of peace is like saying, to learn the rules of the road, go and watch how road users behave on the road. If that were the case, corner cutting, failing to signal, texting whilst driving, exceeding the speed limit, DUI etc. etc., would be permissible parts of the rules of the road. Of course all that is contrary to the rules of the road.
The actual rules of the road may need improvement and adjustment at times. When that happens, then the rules of the road will have changed. But what people actually do is not an indication of the road rules - some obey some don't.
Surely the "rules" of Islam are in the Qur'an, and Islamists are proud of the fact that the book has been preserved, unchanged, since it was first written. So if the Qur'an says to kill infidels and apostates, then that is what Islam is, even if some Muslims do not approve of it, and are more peaceful than the book instructs.
Mu.
The six stupidest words ever uttered. "Islam is a religion of peace." When you think about it, the phrase is an oxymoron. It's a bit like saying "Peaceful Murder" or "Joyous Harm."
War Is Peace,
Freedom Is Slavery,
and Ignorance Is Strength (1984)
Islam is a religion of peace (2019)
HERE IS ONE FOR THE BOOKS
Put Islam into an Anagram generator and you get Malis.
Malis: Definition of malis avibus. : with bad birds : under evil auspices — compare bonis avibus.
OK
Bonis avibus definition is - with good birds : under favorable omens.
Hmmmmm Is there something in a name?
HA HA HA HA HA Put Islam and Peace into an Anagram Generator and you get.
Apes Malice.
MALICE - desire to inflict injury, harm, or suffering on another, either because of a hostile impulse or out of deep-seated meanness: the malice and spite of a lifelong enemy.
Law . evil intent on the part of a person who commits a wrongful act injurious to others.
Something is certainly going on here. Is is just coincidence?
Islamic Peace: a type of bandage in the shape of a figure eight, extending from an extremity to the trunk. Malice Spica.
If you do it with Allah and Islam you get a "Hall Salami." Isn't that a flasher in the projects?
If Islam was a religion of peace the middle east would be the poster child for peaceful places on earth. Umm...
There can't even be peace among fellow Muslims. Just like other religions it fractures and divides on ideologies because its rooted in deception and there is no real God to pull it together.
Sigh...

Guys , I agree with most of the things that you say it .. And me personally I suffered enough from this ideology but Do we need to be careful about our language when we describe the ideology ?! I think yeah , I mean there is people who gonna feel in panic If they meet muslims after this isn't it ?? And they gonna judge everybody !! Even me As an atheist maybe I'm gonna be judged that I'm a terrorist cause I'm actually from middle East I speak Arabic I have an Arabic name but I'm an atheist ! I think I'm gonna be afraid and angry If someone gonna judge me and what gives me a headache that people denying everything , Even in Rahaf's case I honestly fed up I just believed that she gonna be killed even when she announced that she is an atheist No one gonna believe her People gonna say she just want an asylum that what I actually saw in some comments , While she actually has an Australian visa she doesn't need any asylum but Thailand stopped her for Saudi law !! Plus she is a Saudi ! That's what was in my head of course the world know what Saudi means they all are terrorists no one gonna believe her !!! But what happened It's really give me a hope ... I just want to say that I don't believe that Muslims are terrorists ( while my family one of them ) And I know that Muslims just don't think they're a believers that's the heart of the issue for me .. And yeah it's complicated ...
Adonis: "Do we need to be careful about our language when we describe the ideology?!"
HELL NO!! Any ideology that cannot suffer criticism is inherently evil. All evil needs to succeed is for good people to do nothing. Evil is like a cockroach, it prefers the dark, and staying hidden. And from the dark, evil simply poisons and diseases the entire human species.
If I wish to say Islam is stupidest and most evil ideology of all ideologies, then why cannot I say that? Why should I fear a bunch of cowards that wish to kill me for saying such? If they wish to prove Islam to be peaceful, then why is there no peace, yet so much violence in Islamic States?
Always remember my Fourth Commandment of Humanity: “You shall respect the right of ALL persons to believe whatsoever they wish to believe; even if contradictory to your beliefs. You may discuss beliefs; however, forcing your beliefs onto others is condemnable.”
Notice all it says is to respect the RIGHT to have any beliefs. It says nothing about respecting the beliefs themselves. Islam and the Qu’ran are shittiest ideologies to ever have been thought of. Christianity is very close second. And the reason why I say Christianity is close second is due to the fact of the statement supposedly made by the mythical person known as Hey-soos, Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. The Qu’ran does not even come close saying anything like that.
However, ultimately, both the Qu’ran and Bible say the same thing: “You are to live in peace, love, and brotherhood, but only with those of like minds (beliefs system). All others are to be put to the sword (killed).&rdqou;
Ultimately, religion is Pure Evil. And at the top of the list is Islam and Christianity.
Offended? So the hell what? I could care less if you are offended on my knowledge of what religion truly is as compared to their faerie tales.

Well for me I believe in kind of materialism .. The ideology literally is the mask to see our reality and deal with it And what happens to the human it's gonna happen to the ideology .. After 1 million person get killed in Iraq war (2003 ) And over than 100 thousands of people get killed in Afghanistan .. In Syria over than half million get killed And in Libya / Yemen by tens of thousands ( until Now ) .. Above all of that and you still want an opposite result ... At least It's gonna take time to let those people believe in humanity and equality after what happened to them .. For example after the world war 2 people still have that dogmatic and hateful ideologies which let the people going for the cold war ... It's a war of profit we all know that , The religion accept the tribalism mindset which is the worst thing and it's morally bad of course in epistemology it's the dumbest thing ever but you need to know it's more a social system which react with everything that happens to the society ...

The UNHCR has confirmed Rahaf's status as a refugee, and her application for asylum is now being considered by the Australian government. If Australia rejects her, I hope she'll turn to New Zealand, which has a female atheist prime minister.
Even though it has happened before, I was still struggling to imagine they'd send this child back. The chances are they'd have murdered her, and that might not even be the worst scenario. Hopefully the Australian government will do what is right. Sadly this is all too typical of how regimes like SA treat women and girls. In the 21st century it beggars belief. Though there are some christian fundamentalists in the west who aren't much more enlightened.
Meanwhile we have to have the likes of SFT, Royism and now AJ777 sneering at the concept of secular morality.
Sheldon,
"The chances are they'd have murdered her, and that might not even be the worst scenario. Hopefully the Australian government will do what is right. Sadly this is all too typical of how regimes like SA treat women and girls."
The Islamic rules were taken almost verbatim from the the Israelite/Hebrew/Jew rules as stated in the Bible. The main difference is that no one currently follows the biblical rules but the muslims still take them as written in the Koran as gospel. It would be a true hell on Earth if we had to cope with the ancient Israelites/Hebrews/Jews as well as the fanatical muslims at the same time. The Spanish went through that for 780 years.
I agree If you want to make a change it's in reality then the people gonna change their ideology according to that .. That's why in Christianity they're in the same religion but the situation that happened in the west of Europe lead them to follow Martin Luther then they had the idea of Individualism which is literally against the priesthood unlike the Eastern part or even the orthodox the religious people there they have kind of authority in the religious mindset and they're the people who have the right interpretation ... The ideology doesn't exist in some metaphysical world it exist inside us If you're hungry you gonna change your ideology whatever the bible or Quran said No one cares but the bad thing is all of the wars that happened in middle east it's not against the ideology at all they care about geopolitical thing and they gonna support any fundamental ideology that's help them lead their goal and that's what happened .
I can't wait for the rest of the Islamic female population wakes up an begins seeking asylum. (Wolf Whistle Here) Date night is going to be a whole lot easier.
How fast would Islam change if the women woke up and took control? I am rooting for success here! The more success women have, the more this is going to happen.
