If you will be born again, what would you prefer?
-Be brought up from a religious family?
or
- Be brought up from an atheist family?
Personally I would prefer the first one because even if I no longer a religious person, I still believe in god and religion taught me well about morality during my childhood days.

Just a family that allows me to decide what to believe in.
I think that's the best answer possible. And the best kind of parent to be :)
Well said.
It seems that not all atheists fortunately born from a family that doesn't care about your beliefs. But for whatever your beliefs right now, maybe one of the factors is your family too.
Darklight has it right, but if I had to give an answer of the two choices for that question, I would say the really religious family just so I can see if I would be a different person because of the influence of the family life or if my psychological sense would stave off the religious teachings and remain how I am today.
I do believe that learning about the bible gave me a better understanding of the common cultural background of the people I live amongst, who are predominantly Christian. Unfortunately, most Christians don't know the bible well enough to derive any sensible allegories of their moral structure from it.
I was not raised religious however, I was just raised curious. I think that I would choose that again.

your family doesn't defy what you are or how you think....
Hey @Quas "your family doesn't defy what you are or how you think...." it's a little more complicated than that. I was lucky enough to have been born in a family of scientists. My dad and mom are biologists, my aunt is an ethologist and my grandpa was an Astronomer. My grandma was a mathematician but I don't really know if you would consider that science. Anyway, this is probably the main reason that I'm an atheist. Who knows? Maybe if I was born in a Christian family, I wouldn't be an atheist. I think that schools are doing a great (meaning evil) job at indoctrinating children to believe whatever it is that they're teaching. Also, in some places, the teaching of evolution is banned. Totally BANNED. And you're right, most of it has to do with a logical, self-defying personality, but the society is sometimes strong enough to overcome that.
In the magic land of "Whatif" I would be a green bean soaking in the warm summer sun.
I wouldn't be so strongly opposed to religion if I had not been raised in a religious family.
However, I'd much prefer it if children were not taught superstitions.
Deeply religious, with the stipulation it had to be old Norse religion. That religion is so cool, with mighty Gods riding chariots pulled by goats, fighting in the sky, so much an amalgamation of wild imagination.
Modern religions are boring, with a lot of pain and suffering pervading everything while old Norse religion is imaginative and exciting.
I know, I know, I would be a hamster with no arms or legs. My name would be cigarette and my hobby, going out for a drag.

I would prefer to live in a world where MacDonald's sold Harley Davidson motorcycles for $.99 so that everyone could afford one.
To be completely and wholly honest, I'd prefer as DarkLight said and as I raised my daughters (until their death).
Allow each individual to decide for themselves. My wife and I were atheists. Our daughters asked questions. We both told them they could go to church with their friends and make their own decision. They eventually decided they wanted to be like mommy and daddy and be rational.
As another forum user said, and I paraphrase, if I were in power, I would prosecute the parents AND the religious persons for forcing their indoctrination onto children, which is nothing more than child abuse. I feel religious persons should NEVER have any contact with any person until they are at least 21 years old. Why 21? Hopefully by then they would have earned a Bachelor's Degree and have been well trained to think rationally and think critically. But that is just me...

I would prefer not having the Mormons knocking on my door or the JW handing out flyers on every street corner in town. I would prefer street preachers who were born without mouths or arms so they could not yell or carry signs. I would prefer a Religion with a bottle opener as its symbol so that it would at least be useful on the weekend.;
I would prefer not being born again. It would really piss my mom off.
