Tin man! What’s up buddy! I’m doing alright. Just started my full time job, been training all week. Ugh boring as fuck. And yeah I agree. I try to just point out things that don’t make any sense and have them attempt to explain it and inquire them about their explanation. And thanks for the advice. (Non-existent) God knows I don’t wanna get on the bad side of Cog’s farts lol
"...how to spot...?" > Test them. I have done this many times & 99% have worked - Make up 2 statements-one that is true & one that is believable but not true (a lie). Tell the person the 2 statements and ask them which statement they believe is true. If they are religious they will believe the lie, because religion not only effects the brain's way of thinking, it also effects how the brain things & of course what it thinks. Religion literally "brainwashes" the brain's thinking because religion is like an addiction & addictions effects the brain. The one% are cure-able.
it's important to remember that religious people have been brainwashed since birth and are VICTIMS not "slime balls"- the leaders of religion - pope, bishops, priest, cardinals, ministers, pastors, rabbis, monks.......etc. - now THEY are slime balls, because they are teaching BS for money/power/control/other reasons - they are doing the brainwashing. Their believers/followers are victims, such as the door to door jehovah's witnesses, door to door mormons...the church goers....etc...they are deceived victims & should be pitied, not called slime balls. they truly believe they are doing "good" because they want to be "good" (a word that actually came from the word "god"). For as much as it seems that their behavior messes up our lives consider that for each of them their entire lives are destroyed.
And what is with these milk-toast, weasely, half believing, ... Christians always wanting to visit the magical land of "Whatif." Whatif this, Whatif that. It's just a bullsht way of not saying something and testing the waters so they don't get hammered for saying something really stupid. Here are the translations...
What if heaven is real? ("I believe in a happy place in the clouds with harps, fluffy marshmallows, and songs about Jesus forever and ever,") STUPID!
What if God is real? ("I believe in a benevolent, all loving, all understanding, kind, generous God that I have fabricated in my own mind, who lives beyond time and space but interacts with us here on earth through prayer and miracles.") Yea, we've been waiting for the proof of that one for years. AND IT IS NOT THE GOD IN YOUR FRIGGING BIBLE!
Christians try to avoid sounding foolish and ignorant by asking "Whatif" and avoiding actually saying what they mean. It PISSES me off!!!
Cog is Back!!!!!
@Cog
Good. That's more like it. According to a systems analysis, you seem to be running normal now. Carry on.
