I found an interesting website with a list of arguments that creationists are advised not to use in debates. According to the author, This page also shows why it is important for people to stay up-to-date with sound creationist literature. (Who can find the oxymoron in that sentence?)
Apparently it's no longer creationist orthodoxy to claim that humans and dinosaurs coexisted. The formation of new species is also now accepted. In fact it's been part of the creationist model all along. Creationists should also avoid claiming that the Earth is flat. (They wouldn't want to sound ridiculous, after all!)
It looks like science, evidence, and common sense are gradually pushing creationism into an ever-shrinking corner.

oh... Creationism of the gaps?
@Algebe Re: "This page also shows why it is important for people to stay up-to-date with sound creationist literature. (Who can find the oxymoron in that sentence?)"
Actually, TWO in that sentence. 1. Creationists staying up-to-date 2. Sound creationist literature
Oh! And one glaring one in the OP title...... Thinking creationist.
Fucking awesome Algebe! It is what we have been saying for a long time on this forum alone, but the theists just don't accept facts.
It is like the war against immunization shots. the creationist believed it caused autism just because a crackpot religious doctor said so. The doctor lost his license and his membership in the Royal Academy of Science, but there are still crackpots that believe what he wrote.
@Mykcob4: the creationist believed it caused autism
I didn't know there was a direct link between creationism and the antivax movement. It sounds about right, though. Religious halfwits have been opposing vaccination since Edward Jenner's time. If god wants someone to die of smallpox, who are we to stand in his way?
And thanks to Muslim anti-vaxxers in Nigeria, polio is once again spreading.
Anti vaxxers are one of the few sub groups of people I dislike as much, or possibly more than devout theist apologist. Their willful ignorance can literally kill or sicken many people beyond themselves invisibly and w/o warning or choice or chance to flee.
I believe in the bible old covenant explanation for creation. The book of GENESIS explains it all. IN THE BEGINNING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He flipped again!
I'm not sure why people respond to him, when they're aware that he does this.
It's a supermoon tonight.
And a lunar eclipse!
@JoC: And a lunar eclipse!
Sadly obscured by clouds here.
view is amazing, the next super blue blood moon will be on 2027.
@Q Re: Moon
Took this pic last night on my driveway overlooking the pond next to my house.

but i have witnessed the full eclipse. darkness fell when i was on my way to work...in my country they say that if an eclipse happen, its the dragon that swallows the moon or the sun. that's why...so they have to sacrifice their cattle.
superstitions really gets it huh?
@Q
Nope. It is the moon. Crazy, huh. My phone camera actually kinda sucks sometimes, but I really like how that pic came out.
Re: "I believe in the bible old covenant explanation for creation. The book of GENESIS explains it all. IN THE BEGINNING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Phew! THAT was a close one. Just one more exclamation point, and I would have believed him.
@AG
Oh, my word you have changed your name again. A sure sign of an identity crisis. If it bothers you SO FUCKING MUCH to read threads on an atheist forum, why the fuck are you here?
You are obviously over your head. You are uneducated, brainwashed, ignorant, stupid, and have no chance of convincing anyone of anything, you have serious mental issues. You really need help and are seeking it in the wrong place.
The same website has a fascinating analysis of atheism (https://creation.com/atheism) by an Argentinian-American Jewish Christian who was formerly involved in the New Age Movement (Reiki, Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung and the I'Ching). With those qualifications I'm sure he knows what he's talking about.
This article provides a devastating rebuttal to the argument that we are all born atheists and only acquire religion through our upbringing. We are natural-born bed wetters but that does not mean that we should remain that way.
So there, all you bed-wetting atheists.
@Algebe Re: "So there, all you bed-wetting atheists."
Not funny. You have any idea how difficult it is to get rust stains out of white satin sheets?
One of the advised not to use: The speed of light has decreased over time
So it seems they (this group anyway) are abandoning fundie relativity!
@Nyar Re: Speed of light
It only slows down on roads in congested religious areas. (Those darn speed traps.) Once on the open highway it goes back to normal speed.
Tin-man,
Is the speed of light really constant for all light sources?
It is by postulate, and empirically.
@Dio Re: Speed of light source
Well, when I'm using a flashlight and the batteries start getting weak, the light gets dimmer. So it stands to reason the light is going slower because the batteries can't push it out as fast. Right? *snicker-snicker*
Tin-man,
Not all light is the same speed.

"Physicists Slow Speed of Light
BY William J. Cromie
Gazette Staff
DATEFebruary 18, 1999
Light, which normally travels the 240,000 miles from the Moon to Earth in less than two seconds, has been slowed to the speed of a minivan in rush-hour traffic — 38 miles an hour.
An entirely new state of matter, first observed four years ago, has made this possible. When atoms become packed super-closely together at super-low temperatures and super-high vacuum, they lose their identity as individual particles and act like a single super-
atom with characteristics similar to a laser.
Such an exotic medium can be engineered to slow a light beam 20 million-fold from 186,282 miles a second to a pokey 38 miles an hour.
“In this odd state of matter, light takes on a more human dimension; you can almost touch it,” says Lene Hau, a Harvard University physicist."

@Dio Re: Speed of light
Well now.... That's just friggin' cool.
Thinking Creationists - Now there is an oxymoron.
"It looks like science, evidence, and common sense are gradually pushing creationism into an ever-shrinking corner."
Though it's still the stupid corner of course, and they face into it with a dunces hat on steaming up the tiles because they haven't got the hang of breathing through their nose.
Should have saved time and just put the comment in the attached picture below...
Better yet, it should be the one and only commandment...
