You stated that you were a nurse, Well from what I can see by your remarks here not a very compassionate one at that. Mother Teresa won the Noble Prize so she was recognized by her peers. More then I can say about that Vulgar journalist HITCHENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Faith in God:
What are your thoughts about Mother Teresa's heart surgery? Shouldn't she have just submitted to suffering and death as she advocated for those under her care? Instead of prayer and submission, she opted for treatment in the ICU of a modern hospital.
She should have been given an Oscar, not a Nobel Prize.
Flew there first class as well, on stolen money she filched from some of the most despicable dictators and despots in the world.
Still I've learned something new, I'd not heard of a Noble (sic) prize before.
And according to a new book, she was the biggest depositor in the Vatican Bank. If she'd withdrawn her money, reputed to be in the billions, and spent it on the poor, as per the donors' intentions, the Vatican Bank would have collapsed.

"won the Noble Prize"
Wow, a Noble (sic) prize, you don't say. Christ almighty I want to feel sorry for you, but you are such an objectionable individual. She was recognised alright, a swindling sadistic fraudster, narcissistic self obsessed egotist who rejoiced in the suffering of others, then flew first class for the best medical treatment her swindled millions could buy when she became ill. She was detestable, and a hypocrite, she was also an atheist best of all, that's how far her hypocrisy went, and after she died some of her letters outlining her loss of faith were leaked to the public, but she didn't relent in her religious bigotry one iota.
@FIG Re: "Mother Teresa won the Noble Prize so she was recognized by her peers."
And if a bucket of slimey worms recognizes one of its "peers" and gives it an award, then that must mean that worm was the slimiest of the group. Hmmmm....
Side note: Honestly, FIG, you are making this waaaay too easy. *chuckle*
Billy:(or whoever the hell you are) Theresa picked people up off the streets sometimes against their will. That is against the law in the U.S. and nursing ethics. She did not provide palliative pain relief. Instead she looked into the dying eyes of disease wracked humans for evidence of her imaginary Jesus. Sick shit! She also accepted money from the Marcos's, the Duvalier's, and Charles Keaton. While she knew their contributions were stolen she did not return them. My morals are superior to that uneducated woman who had no right setting a miserable standard for nursing. Nurses accredit Nightengale as the founder of modern nursing and progress forward from her example. Not Theresa! She would be prosecuted in the U.S. for neglect and failure to act. Both very real crimes.
The RCC has remained reticent about what happened to the millions she filched and sequestered as well. All that is left to show for it are a string of convents built in her name, a testament to her egotistical self obsession. Meanwhile the poor she professed to love were left to die in unhygienic squalor, often in agony with as you say, no attempt to use those funds collected for even basic palliative care like pain relief. Hardly a surprise as she held the moronic and sadistic opinion that suffering was a good thing (in others of course) as it brought them closer to Jesus. She never applied this warped idiotic and sadistic world view to herself of course, seeking the best health care and medical treatment money could buy, when she herself became ill.
As the Hitch said about Falwell, it's one of those occasions where you actually find yourself wishing hell was real.
Well said, Sheldon!
@Sheldon: she was also an atheist
Oh dear. She was one of us. How embarrassing. LOL.
The Nobel Prize ranks her alongside other luminaries in the struggle for peace and human rights, such as Henry Kissinger and Aung Sang Suu Ky.
She was not "one of us", she hadn't the courage to acknowledge what her loss of faith meant, and stuck rigidly to her religious bigotry until the very end. Funnily enough I thought of Kissinger as well, but was too busy laughing at Billy's Noble (sic) prize, bless.
faith in God follower insults the English and says that Mother Teresa must be good, because she won a Nobel Prize...ignoring the fact that the whole of the European Union won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012.
Mother Teresa was a sexually frustrated pedophile! She was an attention whore as well.
i agree that she was a humongous attention whore. however, i'm curious and would appreciate some guidance to any proof of the pedophilia claim.
Demanding apologies is more than just stating opinions.
Mother Theresa, the greatest sadist ever since Hitler and Stalin.
I remember seeing the TV news shows about the squalor she had those poor people living and asked me mom, "Why doesn't she do anything with all the money she is receiving?" Me mom had no answer.

This is one of those revived Time Warp threads isn't it.
Three threads are walking down the street on a Sunday morning when church bells begin to chime.
One thread straightens up and says, "Hey, lets go to church." "Naw" says another. "Those aren't our kind of people." Well, as it happens the church was just up in front of them so the first thread said, 'I'm going inside." and walked away.
Just a few moments later he walked out of the church in a huff. "They told me to leave!" "What? I can't believe that." said the second thread. "How can they tell you to leave? What reason did they give you?" asked the third thread. "Well, apparently I don't have a soul and salvation is for humans." explained the first thread.
At that, the second threat puffed out his chest and said, "We'll see about this!" and walked into the church.
"Hey," said the preacher, "didn't I tell you to get out of here. Thread's don't have souls and there is no salvation for you. Now get out or I will throw you out." In a huff the second thread left and slammed the door hard behind him.
"That preacher is a jerk," he said to the other two threads. "What happened" they asked in unison. "He threw me out. He told me to get out or he would throw me out." Upon hearing this the third thread turned red with rage. He puffed himself up, tied himself into a knot, blew his top and stomped into the church. No sooner had he slammed open the door when he heard from the pulpit, "Hey! Aren't you one of those damn threads?" "No!" responded the thread "I'm a frayed knot."
