This just in: Mr Jeremy Hunt (Con) has suggested that the terms of Brexit haven't been voted on in the referendum and he might stand for the Conservative leadership contest that starts next week.
We certainly see things differently. Perhaps your view helps to partly explain why US politics is so polarized? It seems impossible for people to move from one party to the other under almost any circumstances. It looks more like two hostile tribes than government and loyal opposition.

There does seem a possibility that the UK (if it exists at all) may not be one of the "5" very much longer.
My understanding is that The United Nations Security Council has 15 members, but only its five permanent members - the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Russia - hold the power to impose a veto on the council's resolutions.
You are correct about the UN Security Counsel. Polarization is the product of the right-wing extremism that has been growing for the last 20 years. It started with Reagan and Thatcher and has grown from there. Take for example the Neo-Cons. That isn't an American phenomenon. It was born out of British and American oil companies.
