Don't waste your time (or mine)

None of us is 100% sure of what is going to happen after we die. Whether you believe in afterlife, reincarnation or like me, that we only have this one shot, we all probably agree on how important our time is, and that we need to choose wisely how we invest it.

I found this video I wanted to share with y'all and read your opinions. 5' video.

Beautiful. I even downloaded

Beautiful. I even downloaded so I can watch it at leisure without wf connection.

For those who don't know about this site:
https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/video-converter
here is the link.

It is the converter/downloader I use for YouTube for quite a while now.

Here is a riddle I wrote for an RPG game once decades ago.

Until I am measured,
I am not known.
Yet how you miss me,
When I have flown.
What am I?

All I can say is that I am fortunate to have had the best 18 years any man could have had. I shall always have those happy memories to carry me to my grave.

Although I may not know if there is an afterlife, if there were one, my beliefs are that it is just like this life: It is what you make it.

Ooh, Flamenca... that is beautiful. That is the best video I've watched in a long time. I am very glad to spend my time with you. What little time under the sun that I have, spent with you, is worth an eternity.

I am very happy I met you. I only wish that my first 31 years included you. "To realize the value of one hour..."

Great vid, Flame. Really something to help folks think and truly appreciate the finite amount of time we have. Thanks.

Nice riddle. Have not

Nice riddle. Have not watched the video yet. Had a similar reaction to a guided imaginary session when taken to a white room, hospital bed. and realizing I was the one in the bed and it was my dying self. I was then asked "What are the first words that come to mind." My response was >Thank You < Not to any deity but to life itself. To all I have done. To this world I have enjoyed. To this life I have lived. It's great to look back on it all and just feel lucky to have been here.

Good reminder brings up the question of hedonism versus stoicism. Clip lost it for me when the BF was made the bad guy. He was prolly tired cos he spent ll day working to provide for the girl and she wanted more attention, insatiable female guy is lucky to walk away in last scene. Hope he never goes back.

The argument for an

The argument for an existential existence.
I'm going to gamble in Macao next month at a thousand dollar buy in holdem table. (Not something many people want to do. But it's on my bucket list.) This week I discovered how important the 12th birthday is for a young girl in the Philippines. (It's a coming out party and the girl wears a beautiful dress and invites all her friends. How can I not help a young girl live her dream. 300 dollars later she will have the memory of a lifetime. Something she would never get without help. These are the things that make me happy. These are the things that fill my life with joy. Hey... an new thread.

Thank you Flamenca! I should

Thank you Flamenca! I should indeed cut back on my siestas.

I liked "time flies but you are the pilot". I liked, but is it true?
The ones who are able to celebrate life, those are indeed pilots and time then flies pretty fast. I consider myself such a pilot, though I must confess the 'auto-pilot' is switched on many times.
But I have been lucky to have (had) a lot of freedom. Not everybody has/had such luck.

"For those who love, time is eternal???" Reminds me of church, a platitude, not even true.

While none of us may scientifically know what happens to us after we die, I do know one thing for myself. If there happens to be a heaven and a hell (which don't believe), I still know there is no way I want to be associated with the psychopathic god the Bible wants us to believe in. Can you imagine having to spend eternity with his followers? I would choose hell 100 out of 100 times to be with some free-thinkers rather a bunch of non-thinking braindead supplicants and sycophants.

Eloquently put. Thank you for

Eloquently put. Thank you for sharing the video, Flamenca. It actually links in really well with Mindfulness - something i've recently grown to respect and give thought to.
Personally, my mortality is something I'm hyper-aware of, and I can think of nothing worse than spending my lifetime worrying about what will happen after. In terms of religion, I could never commit myself to a God or religion that a) may not even be real and b) advocates for segregation and hate under a mask of acceptance and forgiveness.
"If you don't live for something, you will die for nothing"

Thank you all for taking the

Thank you all for taking the time to watch it. It's good to remember every now and then how limited our time is and how lucky we are of being alive. I think we atheists are very aware of this so I miss some believers' opinions as well...

"For those who love, time is eternal" @Adragonist, I guess it's just a metaphor for saying that those who love bet the way they feel about the other will last forever. Shakespeare was very romantic.

@Mbrownec, nice to read you! It's been a while.

For the most part, we choose

For the most part, we choose to waste our time when we sit around and write forum posts on the internet. We choose to do this because we value it in another way.

Not wasting time is maybe the

Not wasting time is maybe the best thing i have remembered during my lifetime you know, we should never waste our time and do everything. I've learned the importance of valuing my time and investing it wisely. Instead of wasting hours trying to gain organic likes on TikTok, I've opted for buy tiktok likes. This approach has helped me achieve my goals more efficiently, allowing me to focus on creating quality content and engaging with my audience.
