Greeting, Firstly I am not English so please Forgive my bad punctuation. Secondly Although I am a christian I do not believe In an omnibenevolent Deity Mainly because of the problem of evil. so why Am I a Christian then? Well I have seen evidence that he is real But also evil or at best likes to fuck with us. Now don't get me wrong I am not here to convert you since I would not like to share this burden with you. So thanks for reading this post If it made any sense to you.

I think something got lost in translation. Maybe try restating that?
Let me put it this way. looking at the world has made me come to the conclusion that It could not have been created by a loving being.
But that, despite not being loving, the world was created by someone... Is that what you say? I'm atheist because I know, I have proof that the eyes exist by a certain natural evolutionary process that goes from the cells sensitive to the light to the retina. You aren't an atheist because you still think that an invisible, yet evil, power creates the world.
We don't believe that God is evil, nor that Magneto of Patrol X is evil, neither is real.
Do you understand?
JacobCorneluis - "Let me put it this way. looking at the world has made me come to the conclusion that It could not have been created by a loving being."
Precisely ! Why are you still a Christian or even a theist ?
The miracles, I would not believe it If it weren't for the miracles.
@JacobCorneluis: First, What's your mother tongue?
@JacobCorneluis: You can believe what you want and for reasons that are more comfortable, but if you think that atheist means believing in an evil god you're wrong. I'm an atheist because I have no religious or divine beliefs whatsoever.
I could tell you what I think about your alleged miracles, but I don't think that's what you're looking for, if you're looking for anything, and if so, I'd like to know what, exactly.
Are you afraid to conclude that God doesn't exist? What's the real problem?
Its a native African language, why?
@JacobCorneluis: Just to know if I could communicate with you in your own language, but I see that not. I'm sorry.
Thanks for offering help but I am a little busy right now
I will talk about the miracles when I have some free time ok.
The miracles in the bible are myths. The "miracles" today are either misperceived natural events or lies.
@JacobCorneluis
I'm an Atheist. I believe there is a lack of evidence your god exist. You do realize that miracles in modern times have all failed when recorded. So why do you really believe in a god?
Are you certain?. Lets look at a famous one Fatima. An estimated 70000 people gathered there fully expecting a miracle. now although accounts vary something supernatural definitely happened that day. I am however more interested in the prophecy that basically predicted the whole 20 century. there are also smaller ones like our lady of akita or the corpses of saints.
Was the Fatima miracle record? What prophecy predicted the 20th century? Was the lady of akita recorded? The saints were embalmed and some of them are covered in wax. So why do you believe in a god?
It is a well known fact, that we even experience in our daily lives, that staring at a bright object can make you see funny shit. The sun is a bright object. So the fact that tens of thousands of people gathered in one place, expecting to see something unusual, and stared at a bright object and a small percentage saw some funny shit shouldn't surprise anyone; except for the true believers, who are willing to grasp at any straws to justify the non-sense they believe.
There are 3 so called secrets the first one is just a vision of hell and not much of a secret the second one is more interesting let me quote this from rational wiki "You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world" as for our lady of Akita it was aired on japans national tv station.
Claiming that "A" will happen or "not A" will happen isn't much of a prophecy!
This just in: I will either have toast or not have toast for breakfast tomorrow!
"...Well I have seen evidence that he is real..."
I had this problem with a friend a couple weeks ago when I told him that I think religion is bullshit. He said he agreed with me on that, but he KNOWSSS that a higher power exists he just KNOWS. He can't tell me why though.
Not asking in a sarcastic way, but jacobcornelius can you please tell us more about what you've seen? I'd really like to know.
Well my English did not really improve I just copy and pasted it from rational wiki. However the prophecy was first written right after Hitler betrayed the soviet union. secondly ww2 did not start in the time of Pius XI. but that still does not explain the accurate prophecy about Russia and its collapse. do you have an explanation?
You might notice:
So there is literally nothing to explain. You are grabbing at straws that don't even exist.
Perhaps you understood me wrong I meant the soviet union would collapse. the prophecy states that Russia will convert ,which it did.
"so why Am I a Christian then? Well I have seen evidence that he is real But also evil or at best likes to fuck with us."
This made my day. I will now move on to the job of repairing the stucco on the front of my house knowing someone who dismissed his god to secular logic still believes in him. Can this be the true underpinnings of theism?
@JacobCornelus
You said Russia would collapse, not the soviet union. So your prediction is wrong. So, tell why do you believe your god is real?
You are very dismissive aren't you? I simply made a mistake not the prophecy. read it carefully and you will see that it says "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world" If you keep up with the news you will notice that Putin's politics strongly favour the orthodox church. This is why I believe not because I chose to also Why would anyone but the delusional and the sadistic want Christianity to be true?
You wrote: ''I have seen evidence that he is real." Good for you. Revelation is by definition relevant to the individual. Based on the evidence you have seen you may be justified. But we would not be. So what proof or good evidence can you share that gods or god exists. Thank you
@JacobCornelus
Russia is not about peace. It has two wars against terrorist groups. Has it's hand deep in the Syrian war. It annexed part of Ukraine and backs the rebels fighting the Ukraine military.
JacobCorneluis, consider this: The Bible looks like it was written by persons who had no scientific knowledge of the world and how it works. It says the earth was made several thousand years ago, had a garden where all life was formed and death did not exist, and where people were lied to by a talking snake and sinned. It says that earthquakes are the wrath of god, that disease is due to sin and god's punishment, that rain comes from floodgates in the sky, that a flood covered the earth, that all animal life was killed except those on an ark, and that god repopulated the earth through Noah. The Bible goes on to describe the history of the Middle East and Egypt, and tells about god stopping the sun in the sky for hours while the Israelites slaughtered the Amalekites. And JacobCorneluis, the claims the Bible makes are incorrect. The Bible's claims are provably false. We know a great deal about the history of the universe, how stars form, and how planets form around those stars. We know much about how life might emerge from non-living chemical reactions, and there is extraordinary evidence of how life evolved on this planet and led to every human and animal and plant on this planet. We know why it rains, why earthquakes occur, how germs and genetic problems cause people to get sick, and why humans are sometimes helpful and sometimes harmful to each other. We know much of the history of the Middle East, how long humans have been there, and the history of major events like global floods. We know these things through careful research, and the writers of the Bible did not know these things. The Bible looks like it was written by ignorant people who had no scientific knowledge because they HAD no scientific knowledge, and no god or spirit who knew anything about the earth would've made so many stupid mistakes. Why do you believe ANY of the Bible?
Yes I know, to be honest when I think about it about it what the Bible claims does not match the world we see and I have always wondered about the fact that the minimum age of the human race is 100000 years and why would heaven only start to intervene in the last 6000. it also states that god give man power over everything that crawls and yet we have died in million of bacteria. then there are also the atrocities and the ethnic cleansing that takes place in the old testament. So why do I believe? If I were to guise its these kinds of things that draw me back...maybe I am just grabbing straws.
@JacobCornelius
Your grasping at straws. You have to take baby steps when letting go of religion. Life doesn't end when you let go of religion, it's just getting started.
Jacob,
Does a fear of hell have anything to do with your reluctance to let go of your beliefs? Really think hard about that before you reply.
