What's the point of debates if NO ONE agrees with you? I HAVE ZERO AGREEMENTS. NO MATTER WHAT I SAY, NO ONE HERE EVER AGREES WITH ME ON ANYTHING.

People shouldn't debate for an applause, I personally don't and I'm sure most people here don't either. I do it for the pleasure of engaging in a conversation with other human beings, for defying my own convictions and especially to learn in the process.
No-one here is trying to hurt you, but in a forum like this you won't find the self-complacency you're so eager to get. If you just want to get easy thumbs up, because that is what matters to you, I suggest Facebook instead.
Debating is completely pointless since all it does is cause people to get into arguments and in the end, no one ever agrees with anything I say.
Again, if you're looking for easy "agrees", this is the wrong place, buddy. You have to work on your arguments and the way you express them.
I know! I'll just say what everybody else says and NOT use my own opinion and thoughts!
Why don't you look for a place where you can find people with a similar view to yours, one place where you are not required to make an effort to learn how to debate instead? I foresee you would be happier than pretending here.
I like a good debate, but yet if NO ONE AGREES WITH ME, that is bullshit.
Moving to debate forum.
Michael, please use the Site Support room only to report technical issues with the site or ask questions about how functionality here works.
Like how no one here agrees with ANYTHING I SAY? I guess am not aloud to give my own thoughts and opinions and only go by what other people say and think.
You seem pretty loud to me.
And people here shit on my own beliefs.
Well that part you got right; people here will shit on your beliefs. If you didn't think that was going to happen here, you are crazier than you pretend to be.
@Michael: And people here shit on my own beliefs.
Oh for fuck's sake. Apart from you saying that you're worthless, I haven't a clue what your beliefs are, so I can't be accused of shitting on them. Why don't you put forward an idea so we can talk about it. Debate will force you to think more carefully about your beliefs and to look more deeply inside yourself. If no-one has ever challenged your beliefs, you can't really claim to have any of your own.
Put up or shut up.
ROFLMAO! If your beliefs are beginning to stink like shit, you might want to change them. The fact that no one agrees with you or anything you say, might just be an indication that what you are saying makes little to no sense at all. Perhaps, it is not the people here but rather the opinions you are expressing. From what I have seen, you know little to nothing about debating and a whole lot about whining.
Your opinion matters as much as anyone else on this website just because people disagree with your opinion doesn't mean you can't give your own opinions or thoughts.
Yes it does since no one here ever agrees with me. EVER. But when someone here says something that everybody else is saying, they get about 3 or 4 agrees. Saying how much you love Richard Dawkins and how stupid religion is can get you about 10 agrees. Saying that everything Dawkins say is absolute facts will get you over 20 agrees. Saying that reality sucks gives you nothing.
Michael: If your an atheist it helps to be an optimist. That is why atheists rarely agree that life sucks. However, you can now note that I agree that hardly anyone agrees with you. We agree upon that.
Reality sucks but it doesn't mean we can't improve it for the future generations.
And what makes it fulfilling other than to just be a good person just for the sake of it?
Michael: My life is fulfilling because my job as an RN provides some people with a better day than they might have had without me! My role as a grandfather might make my grandson's future better. I hope!
hope and faith is for stupid people.
that i have no doubt....congrats mike..you're getting there
see...i agreed on you're comment..and 2 other more..hahaha.
i'm so proud of you boy....*winks*
@ Michael
We all leave footprints on this world large, small, positive or negative.
@ hope and faith is for stupid people.
Hope, not so much. We all have hope. It's when hope is regarded as an expectation that it becomes a problem. All the hope in the world will not, in itself, affect the outcome of anything. Hope without action is as useless as prayer.
Faith on the other hand sure seems like it is designed for stupid people but I prefer to simply call them ignorant until they prove that they are stupid. Everyone is ignorant about something. Stupid is when you cling to ignorance in the face of all evidence to the contrary. There is nothing in the world, no belief system at all, that can not be accepted and believed in based on faith. Faith is not, nor has it ever been, a path to knowledge.
I participate in debate to share my views or to learn something and that's why I never expect anyone to agree to my opinions, statements or views. So my advice for you is don't expect everyone to agree to your opinions or views. I don't care about how many people agree or disagree to my opinion. I just express myself and try to learn something.
:)
"What's the point of debates if NO ONE agrees with you? "
That is precisely when debate makes sense. It'd be pointless to debate something everyone agreed on.
No it's not. We could agree to different degrees.
Are you being ironic?
debate
noun
1. a formal discussion on a particular matter in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which **opposing arguments are put forward and which usually ends with a vote.
verb
1. argue about (a subject), especially in a formal manner
Why would people argue over a topic on which they're in agreement?
I formally disagree and argue that we could formally conclude that we agreed formally to different degrees on the particular matter of formal dissimilar agreements.
I'm not sure I can acquiesce, as I don't agree with your informal disagreement to a degree, and if I were to acquiesce then we should agree, but not wholeheartedly, and thus the degree to which we would disagree would itself represent a degree of disagreement, and thus...I can only disagree, but only to a degree of course.
Let's agree to disagree.
