I had this thought that every new scientific discovery is like a Dear John letter to God.
The Starry Messenger = "You do not control me !" - Galileo
Principia Mathematica = "We can still be friends." - Newton
Origin of Species = "I know this hurts but..." - Darwin
The Ego and the Id = "It's not you , it's me." - Freud
The Selfish Gene = "There were others. Many others." - Dawkins
So much heartbreak.
