A few years ago, when I was still a believer, a friend of ours, who is a church minister, took a 2 week guided tour to Israel to visit many of the holy sites mentioned in the Bible. One day they stopped at the stream where David allegedly slew the giant, Goliath. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Samuel+17
The text was read and its religious and political significance discussed. As the group was preparing to leave, the guide invited them to take a pebble or two from the stream as a souvenir of their visit. Our friend was aghast at the desecration of this holy site.
“If we take some pebbles and everybody who visits takes some, then they will soon be all gone,” he protested.
“It is not a problem,” the guide assured him, “when the stones are almost gone, they bring in another truckload.”

I never understood the point of the D+G story. So smart little guy uses a distance weapon to kill stupid oaf who forgot to put his helmet on. Technology wins, something we didn't know?
HAHA
You have to understand, for them all the land is holy :P
Still is.
“It is not a problem,” the guide assured him, “when the stones are almost gone, they bring in another truckload.”
Oh the irony!
Without a care they reveal just how fake it all is. Well aware that busload after busload of gullible people will continue to pour in, exited to take "genuine" souvenirs to their homes. A sobering glimpse of the true hollow nature of organized religion.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Of course the land is holy, that's why they bring truck loads of rocks, to fill up the holes.
Yea and bless it with every spit too.
