Is The CIA Spy Program A Sign Of Upcoming Mass Political Incarceration

This web series asks an important question is Nationalism/Patriotism a religion? Also has the ground work been lain for mass political incarceration by America? As we head towards the inevitable end of the doomed drug war and its draconian sentences are we heading for incarceration of political prisoners based on the data being collected by the CIA program Edward Snowden blew the whistle on? Is political correctness and the war on extremists the way they will dehumanized those who will be arrested in the eyes of the public?

This is a common practice for any oppressive regime, to collect the names of dissidents and eventually "dispose" of them. It has been done for centuries, the only difference now is that it is more sophisticated and efficient.

Rabid nationalism enables oppressive regimes.

The US has been leading the

The US has been leading the world for some time now on size of incarcerated population. By a lot.

Debtor jails are back in a large way, and the current justice system heavily favors the rich over the poor these days. If you are rich you can frequently get away with murder, and if you are poor, you can end up in jail without trial for many months just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, (even if you are completely innocent.) If you are rich and managed to botch the crime enough that even a high priced legal team cannot get you off on a technicality, you can sign yourself up for a private for profit prison that you pay to have your own room that is more comparable to a hotel room then a prison with a tv, internet, private bathroom, and frequently, a "work" release, that lets you leave during the day. (Not as frequently granted if the person is convicted of a highly violent crime.)

The US even has several prisons specifically for political prisoners, the most famous of course being Guantanamo bay where people can be held w/o public trial indefinitely.

Trump inauguration protesters are in trial now and face up to 10 years in prison for mostly peaceful protesting, (very little damage caused and no one got hurt.) The US is indeed well on its way.

I unfortunately do not see an end to the drug war anytime soon. The pot legalization happening in states across the country is a small step in the right direction, as well as growing knowledge of the opioid epidemic problem fault lies at the feet of prescription drug manufactures, and doctors looking the other way for a few easy bucks and solutions to provide patients in minutes on their part.

However, as long as going after supply instead of demand for most part (breaks basic rule in economics 101) and the "solution" is to lock people up for selling or using drugs, the war will fruitlessly go on, with a few special industries profiting the entire time.

People love to oppress other

People love to oppress other people and people also love to be oppressed. It makes them feel special because of the attention they get.
