Church tithings as a necessity

Not sure if other churches do this, but I find it really strange that the Mormon church requires its members to give their tithes, which is 10% of your income, every month. If you do not give regularly, you are not qualified to go to their temple to be endowed, which means you won't be able to enjoy all the privileges that endowed members can enjoy in the afterlife (thinking about this absurd idea always makes me laugh). My mom, who has been a member of this church for a few years now, was always disappointed by this rule because she was always active at church and volunteers to do jobs that she would otherwise not enjoy doing, but when it was time for her to ask for a recommendation from their bishop, she was told she was not qualified because she did not pay her tithes regularly. On the other hand, other members who were not as active and who are into the habit of starting a fight with other members were able to get their recommendations because they paid their tithes religiously. Now my mom no longer goes to this church. She still believes in god, but at least now she realized that churches and religions are a scam.

"at least now she realized that churches and religions are a scam."

It was always thus......

How the church gets money….
With menaces.

Acts 5

5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

5:6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

5:7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

5:8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

5:10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

5:11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Dear Lily,

Dear Lily,

The concept of tithing appears in several places in the Bible, including the book of Genesis, where Jacob promises to give a 10th of what he receives back to God. In Deuteronomy, meanwhile, there is the commandment to tithe “all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.” The year-by-year yield does indeed sound like an ancient agrarian version of what we now think of as annual income.

But as you know religion has evolved and God forbid something that were legal and made legal something that was forbidden due to the evolution of mankind. In the Bible and later in Quran it was revealed to Prophet about Zakat which was Tithings before.

In Islam, there is a required charitable contribution known as Zakat, but instead of tapping income, the Quran specifies a donation of one-fortieth (2.5 percent) of one’s accumulated wealth or holdings each year. And yes you can give more if you like or give at the end of the year but there is no compulsion as to if you dont give out in time you'll be disallowed to be seen or enter any mosque or meet any scholar or whatever the case may be. but its one of the pillars of Islam. so which is better and easier.

Moreover Zakat(alms) is not required of any poor person who does not have wealth that reaches the minimum threshold at which zakat becomes due.

Beloved prophet Muhammad Pbuh said :

that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Religion is easy, and no one overburdens himself in his religion but he will be unable to continue in that way. So do not be extremists, but try to be near perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded. Gain strength by worshipping in the mornings and afternoons and during the last hours of the night.”

Living By The Qur'an's Values Is Easy and has longlasting fruits. Allah says:

"Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you" (Surat al-Baqara: 185).

ALLAH Says in The Quran ( Glory be to Allah The Most Mighty )

'God desires to lighten things for you, for the human being has been created weak' (4:28).

He has selected you and not placed any constraint upon you in the religion - the religion of your forefather Ibrahim. (Surat al-Hajj: 78)

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said :

'Do those deeds which you can do easily, as Allah will not get tired [of giving rewards] till you get bored and tired [of performing good deeds! ... and the most beloved deed to Allah is the one which is done regularly even if it is little' (Bukhari).
