If there a such thing as atheist then ya'll got a lot explaining to do, such as where the evidence that god isn't real, where did atheism come from and excusing all evidence of creation etc.

The definition of atheism is "the LACK OF belief in a god/deity". It is NOT "we know for a fact he isn't real", although some do think that. Some of the evidence that god most likely isnt real is all the contradictions and horrible things said in the bible. Read 2 Kings 2:23-2:24 and tell me thats something a loving god would do. It's really that simple. I don't know what "evidence for creation" there is, but chances are if it was actually GOOD and PROVABLE evidence, it would be widely accepted and more people would be religious.

I don't think you popped out and immediately belived in your god. Instead, as you grew up you were taught about your religion and then started to believe. Anyone who is not taught a religion to belive in or rejects the unprovable claims about invisible gods, lacks belief in such gods. That is "where atheism comes from".

The question should be reversed, I'm not saying "There is no god, and I can prove it". I'm simply saying "I don't believe your god exists".

I haven't seen a single shred of evidence of creation. I have however seen an absolutely overwhelming amount of evidence that conflicts with the creation story of the Bible. Just what evidence are you referring to?
My atheism comes from a lack of evidence that any of the human created gods are real. I don't believe your god created the universe, if it did, why does it hide from modern science. It gives no evidence for science to test to confirm it's real.

I've tried that in a number of life-threatening situations, including earthquakes, thunderstorms, light planes flying through major turbulence, and before open-heart surgery. God never fronted up to the challenge. I'm still here. He's not.

Atheist is a term made up when and by those that made up their god. Everyone is BORN an atheist. You have to be brainwashed to become a christian.
Although the idea that gods didn't exist goes back to centuries before the CE the modern words "atheist" and "atheist" were created by the French around 1575 as curse words to describe the Protestants who were fighting the Catholics in one of their wars for religious freedom.
Up until very recently, maybe less than a century ago, just about everyone in all societies around the world believed in a favorite deity of some kind. Today people are much more free and have new ways at looking at things. So more and more people are becoming true atheists and are willing to live without belief in any deities.
Remember, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Koran tell their believers to kill non-believers even if they believe in other gods.

As for your god, wouldn't the evidence depend on the type of god you believe in? The biblical god is hung by his own Bible even as Allah is hung by his own Quran! Careful reasoning does not lead to any supernatural god. See my thread "Science Gives God The Bump!" 08/07/2016 18:47.
I freely admit that atheism can't be proven.
The theist claim is that god exist.
I don't believe that claim, because there is insufficient evidence for me to accept that claim.
I don't even have an idea how to prove that I don't believe the claim.
That's why the burden of proof aleays fall on the one who make a positive claim!
The other way around will always be absurd.
I have a lot of negative beliefs, for example, I dont believe that unicorns, trolls, fairies, the Loch Ness monster or Santa Claus exist.
Still, most people find it reasonable and that I don't have to produse proof that any of those don't exist.
I don't believe they exist, because I have insufficient evidence that they do exist.
So, atheist have no explaining at all to do as to why they don't believe.
Stop trying to shift the burden of proof.
Of course, if anyone claim there is no god or that there can't be no god, then (and only then) have they got the burden of proof. And then, theists, you don't have to produce anything, just say "I don't believe you" and that's enough until the claim is proven.

If you're still there, Bible Belted, look inside yourself and discover the doubt about god that made you come here and challenge us to disprove your zany sky-fairy religion. You're the one who's not sure. You need something to reinforce your beliefs, but I don't think you'll find it here.
