Control over a mind?

I think I have to disagree. I actually know how to stop my thinking. Thinking is always in the past. Even when you think about the future it is in the past. You think about it and then you observe your thought and you call it "now," but it actually is in the past. There actually is no thought in the now. It is a state of pure observation without thought. It's like being a baby again and seeing the world for the first time without all the labels.

That, in no way implies that the mind is not always changing. It jumps about like a monkey in a tree on crack. I certainly agree with that. The mind is most definitely in a state of constant change. All living things are in a state of constant change. You can not put your finger in the same cup of coffee twice. Once you do it everything is changed before you can do it again. The experience of the first dip changes you and the coffee. At the same time, being in the now is a way of actually focusing and controlling all the jumping about of the mind. It is a place of non-jumping, non-thinking, non-labeling, simply experiencing.

I have to respectfully disagree with the notion that an atheist wouldn't have money for treatment. While it's true that money holds a lot of power in our society, I've always believed that health is the ultimate wealth. There was a time when I found myself in a tough spot financially and fell seriously ill. I couldn't afford the medicine I needed, but thankfully, my girlfriend stepped in and bought me some dietary supplements, including Energy Boost, which made a real difference in my recovery.
