Cool.

Cool.

@ Whitefire13

"His fingers are like Jimi and Robert - long - and he told me he has some type of finger independence that allows him to play easier..."

Or Steve Vai

When discussing talent, never leave Steve Vai out of the conversation. Fuck, never.

So blues, rock, and intense fretwork.

And if you want to get your son "interested", inform him that Ayla did that in 2016 at the age of 15. She was born in Calgary and presently lives in Vancouver.

There are many incredibly talented musicians who are not in the spotlight like Kimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Eddie van Halen, and so on. And the problem with today's modern music industry, it is much easier to form a boy band, teach them to dance and lip-synch, and make money.

But true talent and art never dies, it just does not receive the public attention it deserves.

He loves diversity. When he’s playing his acoustic guitar he gets into Johnny Cash, John Denver, 21 Pilots, etc. Anyone good, talented...he wants to learn from.

This is the same kid that wrote a 150,000 word futuristic book “dystopian” using his imagination with adapting and “myth”, centred around 5 main characters...

In other words once he gets his teeth into something he enjoys...

I know I’m using this thread

I know I’m using this thread to talk about my boys...I can’t help myself (it’s that whole parent can’t shut up about your kids thing).

I’m soooo excited because I’m putting the youngest and middle one against each other today in a debate. The skill of a convincing argument.
The topic “abortion”. One will be “Pro Life” the other “Pro Choice”. Legislative assembly regarding our “law”.
And FYI, biased is set aside. I judge the argument and fallacies and usually tear both sides apart... :) fun times!!!!
I give them time to prepare and I keep it to a 10 minute presentation of their argument. It’s just usually an overview (their ages) and a hypothetical situation ... so-and-so wants to introduce abortion up to the time of birth or so-and-so wants to make all forms of abortion illegal.

Anyway, touchy topic I know, but I’m looking forward to it.

Good for you, they will learn

Good for you, they will learn the art and science of debating.

Our Canadian military college, Royal MIlitary College engage in a debate each year with US Naval College, and they alternate picking topics. One year, the US students were faced with defending communism. Needless to say, they could not get past their prejudices and lost terribly.

@David lol!!!

@David lol!!!
Had it happen to me. I had to debate for pro-choice! Oh, the mental anguish!!!!

They did good btw. The youngest used some fallacies that I pointed out and he couldn’t understand why?!?! It was fun...

Last formal debate I had was in 1964 , at the church youth group of which I was the prez.

The proposition was "long hair is immoral" . I had the affirmative and won. I've mentioned before what an insufferable little prig I was from 16 to 20.

IF you had bothered to pay attention ,you would have mentioned that I also said 'little'

At 20 I was a swizzel stick, with a baby face. I have photo taken in the army of a judo class. I look about 12. Hence 'little'

Since then I have grown, sadly more in circumference than vertically.

Consequently,I can say with accuracy that I are no longer an insufferable LITTLE prig.

These days, I see myself as more of a know-it-all pedant than a prig. My family and friend agree.

You're welcome.
