Hello friends. I am an atheist from a Muslim country. Glad to be among you.
It has been 15 years for me since I left Islam and became an atheist after I became religious briefly and studied scriptures. After my deconversion I spent my time personally studying western philosophy and buddhism. Today I believe that buddhism supplemented with modern evolutionary psychology is what I would call "true path" for me.
I have been following the christian - atheist debate as it happens in the english speaking world and online and I am familiar with important names in that area like WL Craig and Hitchens and Dawkins. In the middle east however, you will not find anything of the sort, an open intellectual debate going on between different opinions on religion.
That's all I can think of saying right now. Hope to hear from you all soon.
