The rapper who severed his own penis before jumping off a building in Los Angeles in April this year has finally broken his silence about what actually happened. 41-year-old Andre Johnson, who was gravely injured after severing his penis and leaping off the second level of his apartment, explained in an interview that he was under the influence of drugs at the time but insisted that he was fully aware of his actions.

“Yes, I was using drugs that night, but I was in complete control. I cut it off because that was the root of all my problems. My solution to the problem was the realization that sex is for mortals, and I am a god. ...Those kinds of activities got me into trouble and I came here to be a god,” he said.

Johnson, also known as Christ Bearer, belongs to the group Northstar, which is affiliated with the Wu Tang Clan. He said that he did not break his silence earlier because he was afraid of being judged by his fans. He also clarified that doctors were unable to reattach his penis but part of if remains intact, which is why he continues to feel aroused from time to time.

“I didn’t want to kill myself. That was just my response to the demons. They were doing their best to get to me, but being alive solidified my thoughts… I’m alive, penis or no penis,” he said.

After the gory incident, Johnson was taken to the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. While speaking to the media about his state of mind during that time, Johnson said that he was suffering from depression, smoking weed and reading texts about the lives of monks and vasectomies. His erratic behavior apparently escalated after a restraining order prevented him from meeting with his two daughters Lauren and Lana, while a third was on its way.
