Pope Francis is judging gay couples once again by saying that the only legitimate families are headed by a man and a woman. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
Speaking to a delegation of Italy’s Family Association in Rome on Saturday, he (the Pope) also reiterated the Roman Catholic belief that a true human family is comprised of a man and woman.
…
“Today, it is hard to say this, we speak of ‘diversified’ families: different types of families. It is true that the word ‘family’ is an analogical word, because we speak of the ‘family’ of stars, ‘family’ of trees, ‘family’ of animals … it is an analogical word. But the human family in the image of God, man and woman, is the only one. It is the only one. A man and woman can be non-believers: but if they love each other and unite in marriage, they are in the image of God even if they don’t believe, ” the Pope said.
Not only did Pope Francis dismiss the very legitimacy of families headed by a same-sex couple, he also compared women who choose to have abortions because their child will be born with birth defects to Nazi-era eugenics.
"I have heard that it's fashionable, or at least usual, that when in the first months of pregnancy they do studies to see if the child is healthy or has something, the first offer is: let's send it away," Pope Francis was reported as saying.
"I say this with pain. In the last century the whole world was scandalized about what the Nazis did to purify the race. Today we do the same, but now with white gloves."
Calling ‘fashionable’ the fact that people rather chose to bring a healthy child to the world, for their and the child's good, the Pope is not only wrong, but also offends common sense people.
Also, he is comparing killing grownups that were euthanized by Nazi eugenics with abortion for medical reasons. Those humans targeted for destruction under Nazi eugenics policies were largely living in private and state-operated institutions, identified as "life unworthy of life", including prisoners, "degenerates", dissidents, people with congenital cognitive and physical disabilities, homosexual, idle, insane, and the weak, for elimination from the chain of heredity. More than 400,000 people were sterilized against their will, while more than 70,000 were killed under Action T4, a euthanasia program.
