Not realizing what it was doing, Alabama-based Life Savers Ministries put up a hoarding in Auburn on May 30 that happens to quote notorious dictator Adolf Hitler. Upon realizing what they had done, the organization decided to pull down the ad on June 3.

The ad read as follows:

He alone, who owns the youth, owns the future. — Adolf Hitler

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. — Proverbs 22:6

“We are pulling the billboard and certainly never intended to cause confusion. Herbert Hoover would have been a far better one to quote when he said, ‘Children are our most valuable resource.’ We are a children’s organization and had honorable intentions and nothing less.” LSM founder James Anderegg told the media.

Critics had a good laugh at the organization’s error in judgment, saying it had no clue who Adolf Hitler was when it decided to quote him on the hoarding, which surely cost them a hefty price.
