The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this. These subtilised interpretations are highly manifold according to their nature and have almost nothing to do with the original text.

It does seem that many theist use God as their "fill in the blank" for whatever they don't know the answer to. It is annoying but more than I would call it weakness I would argue that it causes weakness. It's the lazy way out. It could even be fear, pride and ego driven but ultimately in time with continued abuse of this technique one had no choice but fall on the side of ignorance, so essentially it's laziness which ultimately leads to weakness of mind devoiding those who use religion, the bible or God as their crutch to make a point or to not have to admit they have no clue or answer to to the questions being posed, of useful practice deployed toward imagination and the result of figuring things out for themselves.
However, I feel God was not the product of human weakness even if it often results in it because I feel those who conjured such images in the beginning were people using what using gods and religious text devoids us of as a tool to control the masses and that actually took a form of strength. These people were in no way weak people though they may have been manipulators, some may have been even trying to do good, yet some may have been simply to tell a story that got taken way to seriously.
